“We did not like!”

It was our first time in Creta. My family ( 2 adults, 3 children ) wanted to try something different instead of Turkey, but so many little things made us to dislike Creta and the hotel:
- mold smell in bungalow rooms( the smell was so strong that I couldn't sleep during the night),next day staff tryed to do something, but without success,
- dangerous to swim in the sea, because of the strong waves,
- small swiming pool where not all swimers folowing the rules,
- indoor swimingpool was shallow and hot ( You can get hard attack if swiming there ),
- bad coffee for almost 4 EUR,
- some of the staff are rude,
- ETC.
Overall we really did not like Creta Palace. We didn't feel like wanted guests in this hotel. I'm sorry for wasted time and money.
Massages in SPA was good, but very expensive.
The only good things during this vacation was Agreco farm and restaurant and Grecoland. Thanks to all girls in Grecoland! You gave to our vacation more happines.

Room Tip: If You are looking for luxury don't go there!

Dear Brigita T.

My name Giorgos Skoulaxinos, I’m the General Manager of Grecotel Creta Palace.

Thank you for your comments on Tripadvisor, which are very valuable for us, not only to keep our already high standard, but even to surpass it.

We appreciate that you and your children enjoyed the Grecoland Mini Club, the food at the Main Restaurant and the Agreco Farm.

We are also happy to read that you enjoyed the Spa treatments / massages at the hotel. Please keep in mind that for all our clients we offer a luxury Spa area, high standards and professional staff.

During the month of October it is always possible to have strong winds in Crete. As you can understand, bathing in the sea depends always upon weather conditions.

We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back at our hotel and assure you that every effort will be made to make your stay with us most pleasant and enjoyable.

In this case please do not hesitate to contact me at my personal email address gskoulaxinos@grecotel.gr, in order to take personally care of your holidays.

With best regards

Such a magic place...The staff and the hotelarea relaxes you and makes you feel like a king or a queen-for no extra charge.

Palmtrees, beutelful spa area, gorgeus sea, wonderful food, relaxing and luxurios bungalows.

I am an experiensed travler who workes in a hotel in sweden so I know that I can recommend this place.

Nice bungalows that are cleaned up to 3 times a day.

The staff was very nice especially Eleni in the frontdesk.

Maria at guest Relations took care of my husband after an accident in the sauna! Also the personal in the Spa took care of my husband and cared for the rest of our stay!

Lots of activiteties and consert free of charge. Learn to dance Salsa!

Food and drinks expensive but you get lots for your money! Otherwise there are less expensive and good restaurants, bars and shops 10 min walk from the hotel.

The spa treatments are to die for. In the spa area you also have a poolarea free of charge!

The Beach is wonderful and you get fresh towls from the hotel every day at the beach!

Breakfast was amazing: Free champange for breakfast. And lots to choose from!

I will be back The next time Im stressed out by everyday life-to this magic place and feel like a queen.

i couldent have dreamed of a better place to be on for sun and bath vacation.
awsome beach of 16 km long. and a beach bar with personel who looks for youre stay to be as perfect as possible.
the bungalow me and my fiance stayed in was very nice - that there was no ocean view, a family bungalow at first but then we had a water leek and they saw to that we got a new room as soon as possible, and the new room was of course a bungalow but not a family size, but we where onley 2 persons so we cant complain about that.. We got the ocean view and thougt it to make the stay mutch better than any other room without ocean view.. :o)

the staf of the hotel was better than any hotel i been to.
but of course the hotel is a 5 star hotel.. so no suprice there.
oh and a big + they have laptops for you to borrow a rainy day and no extra charge.

the spa at the hotel was an awsome experiance and i felt like a new man.
sauna, bubble bath and massage, and the whole body massage was worth the 75 euros.

so the stay in overall?.. 5 stars without remorse from me.. im going back some day.. thats for sure..

“Great family resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2011

Visited Creta Palace for Easter Holidays. Stayed in one of the maisonettes with shared unlimited grass gardens. The room was lovely with four posted bed downstairs for the couple and bank bed upstairs for the kids Laura Ashley style. The room also had a couch, coffee table, TV, mini bar, bathrobe and all the standard amenities. The staff was genuinely polite and our kids enjoyed the mini club. The director himself gave them "a lecture" about the cretan diet and the benefits of olive oil to ones health which was then demonstrated by the kids own food creations! We had the opportunity to enjoy the churche's litany on Good Friday which passed through the hotel's premises. On Saturday there was a special music group which entertained us during dinner and on Easter Sunday a traditional line dancing group made the difference. Food was good for an all inclusive hotel if you know what I mean.

Dear myrtia,

My name is Dimitris M. Kalaitzidakis and I’m the General Manager of Grecotel Creta Palace.

Thank you very much for taking the time writing your feedback on Tripadvisor.
I am very pleased that you and your children enjoyed your stay with us and mention the friendliness of my colleagues and the high standard of your family accommodation.

Please let me clarify a misconception: Grecotel Creta Palace is not an all inclusive hotel. The Easter package offered by Grecotel was including the meals for a minimum stay of 4 days.

In Grecotel Creta Palace you may experience the Greek Orthodox Easter at its Best. We always encourage our loyal guests to experience it with us since we have a full program of festivities and church services.
Our guests have the possibility to take advantage of the late hour holy services and discover the beauty of Real Crete with nearby excursions in the special spring time environment.

Grecotel Creta Palace promotes the Greek Life Style and the Healthy Cretan Diet,
our aim is to provide the best in food by offering
- organic salads and vegetables in all our restaurants
- the olive oil we use comes from the Agreco Farm
- The Agreco experience (“The Best Organic Restaurant in the World”)
as another a la carte choice for our guests
- a lot of healthy choices, for both breakfast and dinner
- “Cretan Corner” with traditional products, local specialties and Cretan herb teas

We even try to inspire our little guests in the secrets of the healthy life style by offering this unique experience called “Healthy Cooking Lessons” based on the “Healthy Cretan Diet”, in the form of a game.
I feel very privileged to do this original activity with our little guests.
First, we collect the vegetables from the organic vegetable garden, located in front of the Grecoland and then we try different healthy snacks and healthy cooking in the space-age kitchen.

I took the idea from the opening ceremony from Athens 2004 Olympic Games, where a young boy, holding a Greek flag and dressed in navy blue and white clothes, standing on a replica of a paper hand made boat, sailing over blue water.

Additional Grecoland activities like the celebration of the “Blue” and “Green” Earth Day enhance children’s attitude towards healthy life style and environment awareness.

Hoping to have the pleasure of welcoming you once again at our hotel, you may contact me at my email dmk@grecotel.gr for any reservation or accommodation requests you may have.

“Excellent hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2011

We stayed in the hotel from 28/9 till 7/10/2011, and found this a very good hotel, except for some minor issues.
Exellent:
- buffets and foodquality
- helpfullness and kindness of the staff (especially Irini, the hostess at the restaurant)
- tasty corner for the kids (but it would be nice if there was also a possibility to eat outside with the kids during lunchtime)
- family maisonette with two floors and two bathrooms
- setting and location
- cleanliness
- it is a very beautiful hotel, very well managed.

Needs some improvement:
- the swimming pools. The water is much too cold, and it is very sad that children cannot use any toys, matresses or balls in the main swimming pool. Also the main swimming pool does not have an area where the children can stand up, I believe that the most undeep part is still 1,40 m.. When you have a little child with you, you have to go to the children's swimming pool, which is far away and where it is not very nice to sit. So you go there to swim and then leave. Also the water in the children's pool is too cold.
Also the swimming pools look a littlebit "old". It seems as if they were forgotten to renovate them in 2009.
- The prices of the drinks and food outside the restaurant are very, very expensive.
- It would be nice if there would be a hotel shuttle to Rethymnon.
- The matrasses on the beds are much too hard! I have a back problem, but also my partner, who doesn't have problems with his back, stood up every morning with pain in his back.

The hotel is excellent, but the swimming pools are definitely an obstacle for me to come back. If the swimming pools would improve, I would definately come back!

Dear avg72,

My name is Dimitris M. Kalaitzidakis and I’m the General Manager of Grecotel Creta Palace.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay at Grecotel Creta Palace, especially your positive comments concerning the friendliness of my colleagues, the food quality and the high accommodation standards.

Obviously, you enjoyed your vacation at our hotel having experienced the typical “Creta Palace Style” attitude – the professionalism and the authentic Cretan hospitality.

Concerning the pool I would like to inform you that we have to respect other guests willing to use the pool for swimming.
Children are more than welcomed to use the children’s pool by the Grecoland (150 m).
The water there is only 50 – 84 cm deep and we even provide a paddle pool for the youngest.

In the beginning and at the end of the season we provide a heated indoor pool with sweet water, which our guests are more than happy to use.

We appreciate taking the time to comment on Tripadvisor, a very useful tool for both, the guests and the hotel.
Please rest assured that all feedbacks are taken under careful consideration.

For anything you may require please do not hesitate to contact me at my personal email address dmk@grecotel.gr
