We stayed at this hotel in 2008. We liked it so much we stayed there on our honeymoon in 2009, and will go back in 2010. We travel in the off-season, but we rcv'd 1st class attention from the owner and staff, wonderful maid service, and the best personable hsopitality we have ever ecperienced, and that includes 4 and 5 star hotels in Manhattan and London. A warm welcoming atmosphere, a great resource for learning of the out of the way places to see and visit, a clean, comfortable room with a view of the beach and Old Town... when we wanted privacy, we had it... when we wanted to chat and visit, it was sincerely provided. This hotel sets a standard of customer service which is enviable.

Definitely a good place to stay. Close to everything; beach is directly across the street. Staff and owner could not be nicer. Friendly atmosphere; good breakfast; quiet room; nice view of the beach. Very clean. Good value
Criticism - had to walk up one flight to the room; no internet service, but offered use of owner's son's laptop when he was there. Only he was hardly ever there. TV was limited.

We stayed here only one night (because of ferry reshuffling), after staying in Chania for 2 nights and really wished we'd stayed at Hotel Poseidon the whole time and taken a bus into Chania. Villa Venezia in Chania was 23 euros more per night than Posiedon and not nearly as nice.
The hotel was a great deal and directly across the street from the beach. You can see the Venetian fortress from your balcony too. The staff was friendly and kept asking if everything was alright with our room. The room was spacious and clean and had a balcony overlooking the beach.
The restaurant/bar downstairs was nice and they didn't harrass us once to eat there or look at the menu (that gets REALLY old), so we did.
My gripe? Like a lot of other places in Greece the shower head is handheld and there isn't an attachment to the wall so you have to hold it the entire time. Oh...and there's no shower curtain which i just don't get.
It's a half hour walk from the bus station but only a 10 minute walk to the ferry which is nice.
Wish we stayed here longer.
