We were very pleased with the room and the view of the port from the balcony. would recommend without reservation to anyone wishing to explore the Ierapetra area...the whole port is right out the front door. Room was clean and comfy!!

I stayed in this hotel with some friends about a month ago. Ierapetra is a common destination for me during summer as it is a nice town for relaxation. There are some perfect beaches in the area, good nightlife, nice food, friendly people and everything you need for nice relaxing vacations. I have stayed in most of the town’s hotels and in some hotels at the surroundings. This hotel opened after renovation in May and for me is maybe the best in town. The rooms are of a decent size but with small beds and not so comfortable mattresses. Decent sized bathrooms with all necessary stuff. Huge balconies with nice sea view. Of course there were some annoying details but the hospitality and the kindness of the stuff made them seem like nothing! For example we had booked a triple room which in fact was two connecting rooms. When I complained the next day that one of the beds had a terrible mattress, they gave me another extra room free of charge!!! We asked for half board and since they had no other guests with half board, the cook (Maria) cooked just for us a 3 courses dinner every evening with a price of 10 euro per person!!! Finally the day we left they let us to keep both rooms till 9 o’clock in the evening with no extra charge!!
I think I shouldn’t say more. I have stayed in hundred hotels all over Europe. Of course this one was not the best or not even close to the best but it is the place that I found the most welcome and warm people.
It was a business trip and we booked many rooms for ourselves and our colleagues.
We don’t think that Ierapetra is the nicest place in Crete to visit. Though, if you decide to go, Astron Hotel is your best choice. Located in the middle of the town, in front of the sea where you can swim.
The building is a bit old but recently renovated.
Room was clean with a nice sea view. The only minus is that there is an opening at the shower cabin. We still haven’t understood why it was designed that way, since you can’t avoid to flood the whole bathroom with water.
We were really impressed by the hospitality of the personnel. Actually the day we checked out, we asked if it was possible to leave our luggage somewhere around, since we were interested in having a last excursion around. Maria, at the reception, provided us with a different room to leave our luggage (for as long as we liked!) and even have a shower if we needed to!!!
Breakfast is fair enough and the lady who was serving it, was eager to provide us with anything extra we wanted quickly and always with a big smile.
There is plenty of parking space right in front of the hotel.
Nice walks by the seaside and great variety of taverns to choose (“Napoleon the Great” was our favorite).
This family style hotel is very dated and unglamorous. It is located along the waterfront. The rooms are very big but spartan, although clean. We paid 80euros per night (not cheap considering the quality) as there is not much else around and we needed to stay in the town centre. Close by are a lot of touristy souvenir shops. There is a very nice bakery that sell local sweets about 10 minute walk away where you can also have breakfast.
