“Stay away unless you are a teenager!”

On noisy road even thou it is not in the center of city. Groups come in all hours and are noisy. Impossible to sleep. Bathrooms are tiny; first room was small and depressing. When anyone shuts a door it sounds like an explosion! Staff tried their best but this is not a place for adults. Upper terrace for dining was the only saving grace.

Room Tip: There are no quiet rooms. Staff will upgrade you to a more pleasant room if you are upset.

“Never coming back”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2011

Outside of the hotel looks like it has been renovated recently so gives a good impression when you arrive. The 5th floor breakfast area is very good with friendly and attentive staff and a good view, but unfortunately these are the only good things about the hotel. The front staff are not friendly and certainly not helpful. The room looked nothing like what is on their website, especially the bathroom shot although it is just of the basin and had the smallest shower l have ever seen - could not have the curtain drawn and have a shower. Room was not cleaned on one occasion (not overly concerned) and made comment to the front staff to be greeted with a look of slight panic but no apology - a simple "we are terribly sorry" would have sufficed, but nothing shows a lack of concern for their guests. Overall, certainly not worth the money and would never stay there again or any other in their chain. Look elsewhere even if you have to pay a little more.

“We won't be back!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2011

We stayed here recently and were very disappointed with the hotel. They must have recently renovated the exterior of the building and the upper terrace because the interior was a big disappointment. Although the hotel had friendly staff, a clean lobby area and is in a central location convenient for walking into downtown, we would never stay here again. Our room was very small and dark (we felt like we were living in a basement) - the only access we had to sunlight was a door that should have opened to a ‘balcony’. This door didn’t open and was completely covered with a metal cover preventing any light from entering. Hence, we never had any natural light in our room. The room constantly smelled of sewage and had tiny flies in the bathroom and shower area. The shower was extremely tiny (by North American standards) and the shower curtain was old and mouldy. Although there was maid service, the towels were ripped and greying and the bed linens and comforter were spotted with unidentifiable stains and soiled. Our fridge didn’t work either so keeping drinks cool was out of the question. The beds were uncomfortable, well used and squeaky. They should really be ashamed of the sleeping accommodations they are offering to paying customers.

On a positive note the air conditioning worked and we had ‘free’ wifi.

The breakfast provided a variety of foods and they do change the offering of hot foods daily (likely on a weekly cycle).

The only thing that kept us from moving (aside for the hassle) and the fact we had already fully-paid was the fact that we were exhausted from a long trip.

We loved our stay in Crete but would never return to this hotel.

“Never coming back!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 July 2011

We paid for a superior room - what a joke, I would have hated to see a standard room. What on earth was superior about this room? The rock hard mattress? The flat pillows? The lack of a mini fridge in the room in 32 degrees outside and nowhere to keep your water cold? The ancient bathroom? The basic and dated furniture? I could go on and on...... Total waste of money
