I stayed at this hotel during a business trip with several colleagues. We were moved to this hotel from our original location and told that this was an upgrade to five star, luxury hotel. I guess this may have been the case in the past, but this hotel was definitely not of five star quality. There is a fancy brochure, but aside from the lobby it is hard to recognize it as the same hotel.
The room smelt very strongly of cigarette smoke, so much so I asked to be moved to a non-smoking room, but was told that there were none and all rooms were the same. Two of my colleagues also had complaints about the smokiness of the rooms.
The fixtures and fittings are very dated and worn. The bed linen was thin, the bathroom fixtures stained and old; the bed itself was rock hard, as were the pillows. Combined with the smell, it did not make for a relaxing sleep. The room was not particularly clean, the bed linens were marked, the carpet did not look like it had been vacuumed, the light switches were dirty, bins were not emptied daily, nor were glasses changed. The rooms are in serious need of an upgrade, the light panel was not working correctly and one electrical socket was hanging off the wall. There was a safe, but no key.
The shower curtain in the bathroom was non-functional leaving the bathroom floor covered in water after use. There was no fan, so the room steamed up quickly.
Internet cost 14 euro for 24 hours; there was free WIFI in the lobby, but it only worked intermittently.
There was a very small pool, so small that I decided it wasn’t worth the effort.
We ate in the restaurant the first evening, the food was bland, but the wine was good. Breakfast was good with a wide selection of hot and cold items and fresh orange juice.
All in all, I would not return to this hotel. I heard that our original hotel (Lato) was nicer from one of my colleagues.
