A great hotel with excellent service. Makes you want to visit it again. Situated at a good spot in the city, 10 minutes walking from the center.

My husband and I stayed here in Septemeber 2011 (sorry for the very belated review) This hotel provided a fantastic stay at the end of a long day of taxi strikes and getting lost. It was magnificently clean, the room was modern, the bed very very comfortable. The bar at the hotel has fantastic service and reasonably priced drinks, but the restaurant could use a little help in service department. There is a gorgeous pool area. The front desk staff beyond helpful as we were there during a taxi strike and needed to catch ferry to Santorini in the morning. One of the hotel staff actually drove us!!! This place was beyond expectations.

As always, this hotel ranks as, the best in town. It has a great location. A mere 10 minute walk to the downtown shopping area. The location also serves 2 additional functions: 1. It's a straight shoot to the archeological Palace of Knossos (via bus or taxi, 2 short blocks away)
2. The 10 minute return walk to the hotel, from the bustling downtown area, helps digest a large meal.

You can opt for a stroll on the promenade, located at the port, or hop on the treadmill, located in the hotel gym... the steam room is a favorite.
The rooms themselves are keep very clean and contain every luxury you would expect from a "top notch" hotel State-side.
The breakfast staff was attentive despite visitation during peak hours. The front desk staff ensured a quick check-in and check-out which always helps reduce stress during travel.

We love travelling (and Crete) and visit the island regularly. This is a hotel that always lives up to its accolades and in fact it is constantly improving with amazing attention to detail. Everything you read in previous reviews is true: wonderful rooms with all modern amenities and amazing beds and bath amenities - (Executive rooms are very spacious by American standards and great value). Free WiFi everywhere, great free gym, relaxed yet elegant ambience and plentiful public indoor and outdoor areas to relax, read, chill and feel you're in an urban resort. Incredible, homemade food (best breakfast buffet in Greece - all fresh, freshly squeezed OJ, local delicacies etc), they even use their own produced organic extra virgin olive oil in all dishes! Best of all is the service - always attentive and highly polished (close to USA luxury standards) yet very warm and friendly - not stuffy, and always with a smile.
Keep it up Galaxy - what a gem of a hotel!
