Everything about our experience at the Elounda Gulf Villas & Suites was exceptional from the moment they meet you with cool towels and fresh juice to the moment that you leave, nothing is too much trouble.

The staff is outstanding, the location is very good, the Suites stunning and the food very good and simply, the best my husband and I have ever had.

I definitely recommend this hotel; you will not be disappointed if you book this place.

“Excellent service DOES exist in Greece”

I was born and raised in Greece however I have been living abroad during the last 17 years. Every summer I take my kids and visit different areas of Greece as I would like them to get a taste of Greece.

This year we decided to stay at Elounda Gulf Villas with another American family and I can not say enough of how much we LOVED our stay there!
The property is very well maintained. The villas’ decoration is simply perfect … luxurious but very discreet and relaxing at the same time. You feel that you are staying at your own home!
The outdoor of the villa (and the communal pool area) is unbelievable… infinite pool, overlooking the Elunda Gulf… the view is as breathtaking as in Santorini without though the millions of tourists!
Food was fantastic… I asked and they told me that the chef is Greek, uses local ingredients and his grandmother’s recipes! We also loved the breakfast… !!! The loukoumades (greek donuts) were to die for! We used the well-equipped gym in our villa to burn the calories!!!!
Apart for all points above, this place ROCKS in terms of service which is something unusual for Greek standards.
Everyone serves you with a big smile and is happy to help you with any request you have! I really appreciated the fact that unlike other hotels they do not try to “keep” you in the hotel so that you consume more … they have excellent recommendations of where to eat, drink, what to do! We followed their advice and hired a private boat to Spinalolga… followed by lunch at a local Greek tavern! That was one of my most memorable swimming experiences!!!!
The place is very kids friendly ... I was really surprised by the number of kids we saw. My kids loved the staff all of whom were very accommodating and helpful!
Thank so much Elounda Gulf Villas for all your recommendations!!!! You prove to us that there is EXCELLENT service is Greece!

“Nice, but wouldn't go back”

Most reviewers seem to have stayed in a villa whereas we stayed in the considerably cheaper suites which are in the same building as the restaurant/bar. Can't fault the suite - nicely laid out, clean, everything we needed. And for us the proximity to the pool area was ideal. We had a look round one of the villas which was indeed very lovely, but at a cost both financially and in terms of distance from the pool.

The resort is tiny. Much smaller than it looks in the brochure. No spa, treatments are in the rooms/villas and my charming but amateurish manicure didn't encourage me to have further treatments. Most disappointing though was e food. We had a package that included evening meals and this turned out to mean a very restricted and very, very basic menu. One night the main course was plain baked chicken with potato. The menu rotated on a weekly basis, so easy to get bored with the food. We ate quite a lot a la carte, but it really wasn't wonderful. Oh how I longed for some nice bread, simple salads, fresh fruits other than apples and bananas. And sadly the second restaurant (well, it's simply an open balcony immediately above the main restaurant) didn't open at all despite having the weather for it ( a lovely, sunny early October). Of course food isn't everything. But if you are more than a stroll away from town, which you are in EGV, then it becomes pretty important. The other thing that disappointed was the wifi access - intermittent at best even in our room.

“Serene and Luxurious from a very picky traveller”

We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa with our 5 year old. During our stay we were upgraded to a villa with a private pool. Both villas had kitchen facilities, beautiful views and were well maintained and offered generous amounts of bottled water. There was also tea and coffee in the room. The second villa had a private gym. The restaurant, Argo was excellent. The Greek donuts at breakfast are sinfully delicous. The meze plate at lunch was my favorite meal the entire trip. The wine list is carefully chosen and so are the wines by the glass--especially a local white which is outstanding. Cleo and Michael took great care of us at Argo. They are both friendly and professional and especially so with our daughter. Theodora at reception also provided exceptional service and helped with making reservations (Migomis was a great recommendation) and even found a babysitter with 15 minutes notice and had kids DVD's when our US versions were not coherent with the DVD player. The pool area is serene and very relaxing. Overall, the property is very well maintained and beautifully landscaped. The staff pay attention to detail and make each guest feel special and the restaurant offers fresh and delightful cuisine. Our family enjoyed the spaciousness of the villas and the beautiful views especially at sunset from the terraces. Our time there was very relaxing and we look forward to our next visit.
