Both my wife and myself arrived at the Elounda Village Hotel on the 12th April, and from the moment we boarded the coach from the airport, we knew we were in for something special. We were greeted by Samantha (Thomson Rep) who gave us all the information we would need, once we arrived at the hotel her attitude and experience were second to none. When we arrived at the Elounda Village Hotel, we were greeted by the reception staff who proceeded to provide us with fresh orange juice, what a fantastic touch. The length of time to check in was only a matter of minutes before we were escorted to our room, wow well what can we say. We were greeted by spectacular views over the bay, along with an infinity pool, the whole experience was conducted in a manner that automatically cried out "Chill Time". The bedroom was immaculate and not a single item out of place, this was further enhanced by our six foot bed, along with the most snug huggable pillows imaginable. The following day we were greeted at our welcome meeting by Jason (Thomson Rep) who who talked us through elements of our forthcoming stay, and trips that were available. It was a pleasure not to be forced into doing any trips, and the final decision was left up to us, another chillin out experience. Both Sue and I are very seasoned travellers, and have had the opportunity of staying in some remarkable hotels located around the globe, Elounda Village, you can hold your head high. The service from every staff member employed by Aquila is second to none, and nothing is to much trouble. "Breakfast" well if there aint anything here to tempt your tastebuds, you would be better off on a water diet. The range of food along with alternatives, like fruit etc etc was perfect to set you up for a very chilled out day. Great news for you late sleepers breakfast continues until ten thirty, and if you rise later than that, you can still pick up a continental until 11.30. Dinner was served in the same, light and airy restaurant area, the waiting staff were eager to accomodate your requirements for beverages but seemed to disapear into the background once their job was complete, this only enhanced your feeling of relaxation and space. The food once again was perfect, a very varied menu which would cover most peoples needs, but I guess you will always find some who continue to complain, but for us the food was of a very high standard, and the catering team took great pride in their efforts, along with perfect presentation, we commend you. The way in which the Hotel is spread out was perfect, numerous small intimate pools that could only accomodate six or so sunbeds. These were spread out over the complex, and came as a further surprise when you pondered upon another new pool. The main pool was larger with spectacular views of the bay, via the infinity pool, once again the level of cleanliness around all pools was fantastic. The private beach, is truly that, a small cove encompassed by the most emerald blue waters lapping at its shores. Numerous sunbeds bedecked the surrounding jetty which were spaced out in a manner that would not intrude on your own personal space. At the end of the stone jetty lies three decks that stretch out over the water, this experience along with the sun only enhanced the experience of tranquility. I could go on and on, but I wont because we will be returning this October 2012. On a final note I would like to Thank Samantha, Jason, and Elizebeth, for the time they took to make us all feel so so welcome. Nothing was to much trouble, and this trio need to be commended by all, along with Thonson for their truly Professional and caring manner shown towards us. I would also like to thank all the staff of Elounda Village along with Maria the customer relations manager who worked so hard over the Easter Celebrations to make our stay so perfect, Elounda Village you truly are an emerald, we shall be back, "See you all in October"
