Silde's owner Silvia welcomed us like family during our second stay. We were late booking, as usual, so only the ground floor studio was available. Despite our concerns over noise we slept well - the air-conditioning works well so you can close the windows which keep out most of the noise. The airco is placed above the living room section so it does not blow on in bed - the usual thoughtfulness you find at Silde. We were struck again by how well equipped the apartments are - really nothing missing. The advantage of the ground floor is you use the table and chairs (with umbrella, of course) on the street as the locals do and begin to become part of the street scene, sharing a kalimera with the local residents. Soon we had all the many windows and the door open to the world - just had to remember modesty when leaving the shower. Wifi worked a treat. Terrific value. Thanks again Silvia.

I can only agree with the other glowing reviews. The owner is helpful and friendly, well located in the old town near to everything, comfotable and with all you need for a short stay. The owners suggested restaurants are excellent. Cannot fault this for a home away from home feel.

There is no need to write anything more than what has already been written in all the other reviews. The rooms are very clean, simple but very functional. There is no view of the sea but the location of the hotel is an ideal starting point for all of your walks in the city of Chania. The public parking was just a few meters away,so bringing a car is also convenient. We could also have breakfast simply by walking 20 seconds away from the hotel.
Sylvia (the owner) was very helpful and provided everything we needed.

We stayed here for 12 nights in early April 2010 and have nothing but praise for the large family apartment. We are a family of 4 and our children are aged 7 and 9. The apartment is very clean and tidy and very child friendly and is situated in a quiet off street from the main alleyway. We have been pleasantly suprised with the whole experience as we booked on the internet without seeing it but were persuaded by other reviewers comments. Sylvia is lovely and is not too overbearing but does look after you if you allow her to, we were the beneficiaries of home made biscuits and fresh avocados from her husband's farm.↲↲Would highly recommend this place and will be booking here next time we come to Crete.
