“Wonderful!”

Very charming hotel located right in the middle of the "old town" of the harbor area. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, and there is someone available 24 hours/day. They provide a nice breakfast, and one morning even provided it over an hour before the normal time because we were leaving early on a hiking tour.

The rooms are cozy (Euro style- fairly small) and clean. I would stay here again if we visited Chania again.

“Perfect location!”

Air conditioned, decent bathroom. Not quite soundproof walls... The only downfall. 1 block off of the old port, 3 blocks from the beach. Beautiful view from the hotels roof top terrace for sunrise. Helpful staff, own the travel agency across the street for taking the bus to hike the Samarian Gorge.

“Good for budget travelers, but don't use the phone”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 August 2010

We stayed here for 5 nights recently. Having also stayed in 5 other hotels all over Crete and other Greek islands, the rooms here are quite average, but ours came with a nice balcony with plants and bougainvillea flowers. The shower, like most showers we encountered in budget hotels in Greece, are made exactly to fit one person, and you can't move or maneuver without hitting a wall or a shower curtain.

We had trouble with our ATM card one day and used the phone in the room to call an international toll free number. Our phone call lasted about 10 minutes and they tried to charge us 70 euros, which was the price of a room for one night! They ended up bringing down the charge to 35 euros, but still, that is a ridiculous price.

Also, if we weren't out of our rooms by noon each day, the housekeeper would scowl at us outside our room, tapping her foot impatiently until we'd leave. After the first morning, it actually stressed me out so much that I would set my alarm clock earlier just to not inconvenience the housekeeper - when you're on vacation, you should be allowed to wake up whenever you want.

“Simple hotel in heart of old Hania”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2010

Usually we book the accommodation in advance. This time we were walk-in guests. We just sit at the street and found at Internet the best value hotel close to our location.

The hotel is nicely located at a narrow street close to bars and restaurants, shops, harbour and within short stroll from the beach. The reception is small and has "a family run" look. The room was really large with a fridge. So we immediately bought wine & fruits and had it cool in the fridge. The only disadvantage was the view to a next building wall. Air-condition was working fine.

“You get what you pay for... a nice view”

This place definitely has a spectacular view of the inner harbor & ocean and has a great location, but the rooms need a lot of improvement. The beds seem old & only have 2 pillows. The bathrooms are decent size, but with the lack of a shower curtain, you can imagine the mess of water all over.
