This little hotel is wonderfully located close to the Venetian Harbour in Chania. Set in a pretty and quiet street, it is only a 2 min walk from the harbour and a 10 - 15min walk to the small beach. The staff are friendly and the rooms basic and clean.
However it is not as advertised on their website - they state parking as a facility - but none is available - when asked we were told 'oh just find a place on the street'. Our sea view balcony only had a sea view if you leaned out over another balcony and then it was between buildings. The room had no storage and the bathroom was just awful. Dark, damp - it had a constantly dripping shower unit, which was broken and could not be attached to the wall, and was tiny.
The hotel is well priced for its location and we could forgive the above if we did not have some difficulty on checking out of the hotel. We had booked online using an Amex card to secure the reservation. On Checking in we quiered the payment with the receptionist and she confitrmed she had the card details and would debit it on check out. As we went to breakfast on the morning of our departure, she asked us to pay in cash 'as the card readers were not working'. We told her we could not do that as we had no cash. By the time we returned from breakfast she told us she could now take visa, but not Amex as the machines were selectively broken for Amex. We offered to leave the Amex details to process when the machine was working correctly again, but was told 'it might not be fixed as they had already waited over a week for it to be fixed'. So if the machine was not working they knew this on checking in and failed to tell us!
