“Simply Loved This Place And These People”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 September 2010

My new wife and I stayed here for five days on our honeymoon and just fell in love with the town, the hotel and the special people who run this place. Athena, Barbara and Irini were all so nice and accomodating. You need a car, just ask. They'll have it delivered. You need a reservation for a restaurant or spa, just ask. They make it happen. You need anything, just ask. They are so good and so much fun that they make your trip even better. Truly great people.

We loved the breakfast on the balcony overlooking the bay. The two story, marble floored room was clean and very comfortable. Do understand, this is not a typical hotel. It is an eight room boutique hotel. There is no late night room service or anything like that. Frankly, I like this place better.

I also appreciated that it was not in the downtown or old town area. It's a ten minute walk, three minute taxi ride away right on the water in a district called Chalepa. Because it's away from town it is much quieter during the day and night which we very much appreciated. The walk from the harbour back to Villa Andromeda is nice too and helped us work off some of the Lyraki that gets poured at every meal hear.

The location is great. The place is spectacular. The people are even better. I can't wait to go back.

“Why Stay Anywhere Else?”

One would be hard pressed to find an accommodation like this one which in a prior incarnation had been the German Consulate. This is no "hotel." Instead, one is transported into a luxurious world of refined elegance and extremely tasteful duplex apartments. The balcony view from where your excellent breakfast is served is what one dreams about when on an island vacation. And Athena [the owner] and Barbara [the major domo] are incredibly hospitable and charming hosts. We stayed 5 nights. We hope to return next year for another 5 nights. The walk into town is no big deal and should be viewed as an opportunity for adventurous strolling rather than a chore.

“Just PERFECT!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 August 2010

Spent four wonderful days with Athena and Barbara at the beautiful Villa Andromeda, who made us feel like family. We were two families with Tweens and had the two ground-floor suites that gave us immediate access to the beautiful grounds and large, very clean pool. It felt like our own private mansion in Chania. Each day, Athena and Barbara helped us plan our expeditions and dining with helpful advice only locals can give. Short but pleasant walk to old town Chania means you are out of the tourist fray and have a spectacular view back across the harbor at the old town. Thank you ladies, for making our visit truly special!

“Absolutely loved Villa Andromeda”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2008

My partner and I spent the first four days of our honeymoon at Villa Andromeda and were really pleased with our choice.

We were warmly welcomed by Barbara who was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. She helped select the best restaurants from our Lonely Planet and was a wonderful host - interested and never over-bearing. The owner Athena was also very friendly.

Our room (no.7) was at the front of the property and split over two and a half levels and was fantastic. Beautiful floors, plenty of space, a free bottle of wine and fruit, and a fantastic view out to sea. Our only criticism was that the bed was extremely hard. Otherwise it was perfect.

The rest of the property was delightful. There is a fantastic private pool which we had to ourselves most of the time. The communal rooms were very pretty and there was private parking for our hire car.

We took breakfast every morning on the balcony overlooking the sea and had it to ourselves. It was fresh and delicious.

Finally, the location was perfect for us. It was only a 15-20 drive from Chania airport (which is very small but much preferable than Heraklion!) and a pleasant 15 minutes walk into the centre of Chania. We visited most of Crete's bigger towns and found Chania to be the best. Although it is a bit touristy, it is also a working town and has kept some of its authenticity.

Overall, I cannot recommend the hotel enough and would definitely stay there again in the future.

“Best place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 December 2007

Villa Andromeda is an absolutely divine place to stay! We stayed there for 6 nights as part of our honeymoon. Having just eight spacious suites, it makes the ideal place to escape for a romantic get-away. The villa is around a ten minute walk from the lively harbour which has lots of great bars and restaurants so is situated in a perfect location.

The suite we stayed in was more like a self contained apartment with a living area and huge bedroom upstairs - we had fantastic views across the sea from every window, which were great to wake up to.

The breakfast is out of this world - we took ours on the balcony and were served hot out of the oven pastries with home-made jam, freshly squeezed juice and a selection of teas - my mouth waters just thinking about it!

The manager, Athena and her assistant Barbara could not do enough for us - both were a wealth of knowledge from everything from car hire to ferry travel, restaurant suggestions and day trips - both were the icing on the cake at a truly wonderful place to stay.

I cannot recommend Villa Andromeda enough - in fact, my husband and I are going back to celebrate our first anniversary.

If you're looking for somewhere to stay in Crete - do not hesitate - stay at Villa Andromeda!
