The Arkadi is in an ideal location for people wanting to use Chania as a base for moving around Western Crete, being 5 mins from the main bus station and less than 10 mins from the Venetian harbour with all its shops and restaurants. It seemed geared more to business use than tourists as it did not provide much by way of information on local tours etc.
The room was clean (and cleaned thoroughly each day), although the bathroom fittings seemed a bit dated. Beds were a bit hard, and the 'double' room was two single beds pushed together. Air con (didn't use) and small TV provided; no mini-bar. They will provide room service if you ask.
They had a single PC with free internet access, and WiFi in reception - not sure about the rooms as we weren't carrying a PC.
We were at the back of the hotel, so didn't suffer much from the inevitable noise (the Arkadi is located on the main square). The outlook from the balcony was not good, as it faced the other wing of the hotel and adjacent buildings.
The breakfast buffet, although the same each morning, had plenty of choice and the food was adequate. The dining room is quite large and airy.
The staff were friendly, co-operative and responsive.
