The hotel is very centrally located at the Omonoia square with connections to the metro system i.e. easy access to the airport). It is also within 10 minutes walking from Syntagma and Monastiraki. The hotel is rather worn down and old, but is an good budget alternative. Still, slept well in a comfortable bed.
The Omonoia area is slightly seedy and unsafe so do pay attention when walking at night. It might be recommendable to take a taxi at night; if you trust the taxis, that is... Might be a bit of traffic in front of the hotel so ask for room away from the street.

Don't stay here, all of our electronics (phones, ipods, ipad, camera), PASSPORTS, CREDIT CARDS, AND MONEY were STOLEN out of our ROOM when we were out. We made sure that the room was LOCKED before we left the room and the only person with the key were hotel staff. DON"T STAY HERE IF YOU WANT TO BE SAFE. We booked this hotel online not realizing how terrible the area is that the hotel is in. Omonia is the worst part of athens and just one walk around the block you'll notice it. The hotel staff was terrible and when we notified them of the theft form our room they were unhelpful, discouraged us from calling the police, and didn't offer any reimbursement of any kind. The rooms are old and dingy. Walls need to be painted. The bathroom has a standing shower and was moderately clean but not worth what you pay to stay there. Towels were old and thin. Breakfast was terrible. They make you eat in the dark. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and would not recommend it to anyone!

I like the hotel because of the friendly staff as well as the nice breakfast i had every day. Sometimes i used to walk to Acropolis and the Plaka, its also convenient to take the subway which is located next to the hotel.There are alot of restaurants, cafes as well as shops where you could get everything u need like fresh fruit or water....
The people in the area and around the hotel were helpful and friendly, whenever i was asking about something they used to answer me friendly and sometimes i get some good advise where to go and where not especially at night when you are going out alone
My room was quit and clean and i think that i would book in this hotel again when i travel to Ahens.

We stayed two nights at Ilion hotel and it met our expectations. Room was clean and of an adequate size with good airconditionning and great free wi-fi ( which is always essential for us). The hotel is located right in the city center, we walked to all the sites we wanted to see. Acropolis was an easy walk of 15 min. Nice breakfast buffet ; Extremely friendly staff. Good value for money, we would stay again.
