Due to the EU Soccer finals taking place in Athens, this was the only hotel my travel agent could find for the four days I would be vacationing in Athens.
First of all my credit card was billed for the full stay when the room was first reserved in April.
Communication with the staff was very trying- extremely limited English.
My first room had only a bed, chair, night stand with a small light (no shade on it). There was no closet or dresser. The TV was broken. The room had a window that looksx ouf into the hall way - go figure.
I complained about the TV and was moved to a room that was more resonable.
Both rooms needed a good cleaning, esp. the bathrooms. The beds were made up with only a bottom sheet. You had to finish making the bed yourself, and there were no bed spreads.
The neighborhood is pretty scary. The area is active with prostitution- both female and male. Managed to be present at the registration desk when the same women brought there john's into the hotel. I was propositioned a couple of times by prostitutes who sat on the hotel's front steps. Though, once they knew I wasn't interested, they backed off and there were no problemse -even got to the point of waving hello to one another.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, nor would I go back, unless it was the "hotel of last resort."
