The staff at this hotel really go out of their way for you. Also, the rooms are excellent and clean. Further, the breakfast is the best I've had in Greece. It's a 10 minute walk to the subway, but you'll get much better value for your money here than in the very center of
Athens.

I stayed here because I was participating in an event held at the hotel. The room was okay and very clean, but the whole place looks old and in need of some modernizing touches. Everything looks kind of shabby and old-fashioned. In my room, the minibar seemed to be broken, didn't keep things cold. There was also a bedside lamp that mysteriously turned itself on in the early hours of the morning, couldn't figure out why. On the plus side, free wifi is available everywhere in the hotel and they asked if I'd like a password when I checked in.

There was a breakfast buffet with lots of variety, but most of the food didn't look very appealing to me. The hot items looked like they'd been sitting there getting cold for hours. However, the staff was very friendly and helpful. They didn't need to ask my room number and coffee/tea preference after the first morning. I also had dinner at the hotel restaurant and the food was not what I'd expect from a supposed five star hotel.

For business, this hotel is great, but if you're expecting the five star experience advertised, you're likely to be very disappointed. First the good points: firm, comfortable beds, spacious bedrooms, helpful and professional staff, excellent food and good meeting rooms.
However, the bedrooms are very dated, with old, chipped furniture, tiny portable TVs and in mine the bathroom flooded every time I used it. Worth bringing some earplugs too, as although the rooms are fairly quiet, if the person in an adjoining room decides to take a shower then you'll certainly know about it. There are also some unusual quilted walls and pillars of questionable taste in the lobby area, and I found that whilst the free, wireless internet was a nice touch, it was very unreliable on my last evening at the hotel. Not sure if this was a one-off problem or not.
Overall, a good place to stay for those on business, but not recommended if you're looking for a luxury stay in Athens. The location is pretty average as well, though only a few tube stops from the city centre.

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights in June 2010 at the end of a month-long Greek Island tour. This was the only hotel we had pre-booked in the UK and had high hopes, based on the 5* rating and the price they were charging. We thought we'd finish the trip at a luxury hotel.

Unfortunately there is nothing luxury about this hotel at all. The overall feel is very 'tired' and in need of modernising. I would classify it as an average 3* business hotel, situated in commercial district, nowhere near any restaurants, bars or shopping area's.

In fairness we arrived mid-morning because of traveling through the night (after another Greek ferry strike !), and they allowed us to check-in early. Breakfast is also a good spread. The only reason I can't recommend this hotel is because it's vastly overpriced, if it was available on a last-minute deal at half the price then it would be okay.
