Good location, just near the Syntagma square. We chose a big room with big balcony with wonder views of Acropolis. The view on the balcony is fantastic.

The location of the hotel was great. We took the train from the airport directly to Syntagma Square. It's also within walking distance of many restaurants and shops.

The room we had was pretty small, but probably about average for European hotels of this quality. The mattresses were pretty hard. The curtain didn't quite close correctly, and the shower took a bit of learning to use. The soundproofing seemed pretty good, especially from the street noise; that was impressive, given the proximity of the hotel to the Syntagma Square, and the AC worked well.

The real highlight is the rooftop restaurant with views of the Acropolis and city. Breakfast buffet was very nice. Don't go too early though, because they start bringing out other hot foods about an hour after breakfast begins.

I don't understand why a hotel of this caliber does not include wi-fi service with the room. Most every mid-range hotel in the US does.

The Astor is a large and bland but efficient hotel - the rooms are dated and fairly basic, but were clean, air conditioned and have balconies The hotel staff were friendly and the location is excellent, being about a minutes walk away from Syntagma Square. The view of the Acropolis from the 10th floor breakfast room/restaurant is undoubtedly the hotel's best feature.

This hotel is magnificent, perfectly situated for shopping and sightseeing. We could lie on our bed at night and see the Acroplois lit up from our window and balcony. Staff helpful and friendly. Rooms clean and spacious. Highly recommend.
