This is a luxury hotel on a perfect location for a tourist trip. For business people it also has its charm but for a price. We had organized a bussiness meeting with this hotel. They had really difficulty in being flexible in terms of pricing and reservations (whilst we foresaw 50 guests staying in their hotel). Apparently some bureacracy still existing in their genes.
But the organization during the week itself was okay: service perfect, additional equipment installed without problems, free wfi for the conference (where you need to pay 8 Euro/day as a guest - this is a bit oldfashioned policy for a five star hotel), good lunch and sufficient coffee (the latter was agains a price of 8 Euros per person so I had not expected anything less).
Indeed a luxury hotel with good, well furnished rooms. Not a lot on the cable television so you imagine people tend to frequent the bar. Which was not the case as I had it all on my own. I suspect people go around the corner to Plaka.
The bathroom was okay with al amenities present. Large washing basin. Warm water contrl was sometimes difficult. Also the electricity control was dubious: you needed both to place your key card in a slot but also push a central control button. I once had left on the lights whilst I took my card away.
Good location on Syntagma square right above the subway station. However also noisy outside which the glazing cannot exactly coop with.

Room tip: Ask for a room on the internal (not street side) if you are a light sleeper. The windows do not keep the noise out that well.

What can I say about this luxury hotel, the hotel is central and the service wow. You pay for what you get. I was facing the acropolis and every night I slept with a smile on my face. Waking up to this majestic place just made me feel so good. The breakfast are excellent and the staff are great. I would recommend this hotel.

The hotel is part of Preferred Group Hotels and it is a luxury hotel facing Syntagma or Constitution Square. It is next to other two luxury hotels. Possibly the trio of best hotels in Athens. It is walking distance to local street and Plaka area.

The superior rooms face either the Syntagma Square or Acropolis. View of the Square is with the view of the Tomb of Unknown Soldiers and the famous Greek Honor Guard in their traditional uniforms. The uniform skirt has 400 pleats…one for each year of occupation by Turkish Ottoman Empire. The special parade with brass band and full military contingent is held every Sunday at 11 A.M.. It is crowded, but it is not to be missed. The Acropolis view room provides a incredible view of Acropolis bathed in the morning sun or lit at night. Waking up or going to sleep is a great experience. The rooms have large balconies.

Room are large with luxury bathrooms and full amenities. Bed are very comfortable. Room
service is 5 star.

Front desk is another story! In all the travels encountered, this front desk crew, Iliajas, Vasilli and "Raki Melo" Emanuel are the best. Supper knowledgeable service with a smile, recommendations and guidance. Honest information given regardless if it is good or bad, they are there for you. Amazingly, in this large hotels, every time in passing by their greetings were with a smile and acknowledgement by name. Top professionalism and great sense of humor.

Looking forward of going back!

Room tip: High floor rooms have the best views. Central reservations did not have available room for the dates requested. Direct contact with hotel resolved this problem immediately.

As a luxury travel writer for world-adventurer.com I've stayed in many 5 star hotels in large cities and while there is a lot of competition, NJV stands out with its great location, incredible views (on enormous terraces), and stand out staff.

What was impressive was the lengths that the front desk went to make sure I was satisfied with my room, the tour they suggested and the overall stay. Every time I walked in, the front desk smiled and acknowledged my arrival.

The terrace of my room was massive. You could throw a new years party there (in fact I bet plenty of people do). The room was luxurious though a bit dated. However, the hotel seems to be upgrading them to some really modern/lux rooms.

Finally, the view and location are some of the best in the city.

One drawback of the hotel is that they do not have an onsite spa/pool, but fortunately they have a deal with a great health club for guests to use at a discounted rate.

Great choice for Athens!

For pics and a detailed experience, check my site, world-adventurer.com!

Room tip: Ask for a room on a high floor (ideally the corner room with the massive wrap-around terrace!)

We stayed here for 3 days before going to Santorini, and I have to say I expected a lot more from the pictures and reviews I had read, I was a little underwhelmed by the whole experience. I expected to have views of the Acropolis like the ones in the pictures but this is definitely not true. The breakfast was so incredibly expensive we ended up just getting a croissant across the road. Most disappointing was the size of the room! We could barely walk around the bed, and the elevator is really tiny. In saying this, the hotel is in a really good location, and walking distance to the Zeus Temple and other great shopping and restaurants.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for sharing your experience on Trip Advisor, following your recent stay with us.
We are disappointed to hear that your overall experience at the NJV Athens Plaza did not live up to your expectations.
With regards to your reference about the view, please be advised that not all rooms have the same Acropolis view, a fact depending on the room type and the floor.
Regarding your estimation on the prices of our breakfast, please be advised that apart from the great variety of delicious options offered one should consider the high standard of services and location.
We are deeply concerned that you were not satisfied with the size of the room allocated. Our room sizes vary depending on the room type, Classic, Superior and Deluxe.
It is wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the location of our hotel. Indeed, the NJV Athens Plaza is at the very heart of Athens, within minutes of the greatest attractions and the most famous shopping streets.
We do hope to have the opportunity of welcoming you back in the near future. Should you decide to return, please do not hesitate to contact me personally in order to find a room suitable to your preferences.
Kind Regards,
