“Cold , abandoned , they should pay us to stay there”

No one else staying there, corrodors had no lights And were pitch black, sheets had hair in them, room was freezing and heater would cut in and out, bathroom very small and dark, alarm in st went off at 1am for around 15min, staff were unfriendly, hotel bar had empty bottles of spirits and could only offer beer, breakfast was very basic and stale, toast butter and jam, staff were not helpful at all, with us being the only people there you would think we would be treated better. We were supposed to stay for 2 nights and only stayed for 1 after a bad night sleep and uncomfortable beds, do not beleive the pictures as they are all false, not one rooms looks out at the acropolis, we recommend no one ever stays here, nO wi-fi is available.....the only good thing is location

“Basic hotel in ideal location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2011

Budget hotel in very good location. Our room was clean and tidy, although somewhat tired. Breakfast was one of those continental breakfasts of toast and jam, tea/coffee, and 'juice'. We stayed there because our plans needed to change because of strikes. The staff were helpful when it came to figuring out what was happeining in the city. Wi-fi was available in the room but was a bit hit-and-miss. Ended up going down to the breakfast room where it was better. Location was quiet, on a small square and near attractions, food and PT. Make sure you check out Matts athens guide online for really good tips and info.

“Stay for the great location.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 March 2011

The Adams hotel has a marble stairway that takes you to your room. Most importantly, it is clean and smells fresh. Our door did not lock well, but we felt safe enough. The washroom was dated and the showers did not work so well, but we only spent the nights in the hotel. The beds are flat and uncomfortable, but we could get past it. The owners will serve you a carbo-loading breakfast, so be ready to walk around the corner to the fruit and veg vendor for top ups to get your day to a good start. Their coffee is dark, rich, and delicious. Their juice is fresh and tasty. The proprietors will give you good suggestions for buses, food, and shops.
Location is everything in this case, as the hotel is situated at the foot of the Akropolis, near good shops, excellent restaurants, and near a major bus line that will take you to the sea side in about 45 minutes.
Print a map and the address to show to your taxi driver. The hotel is tucked away in rambly streets.

“A dirty hotel with mean owner”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 July 2010

I stayed there for 6 nights and was very dissatisfied with the hotel & the owner. The room is dirty and the bathroom is too small. A USED, DIRTY teaspoon was put on my saucer in breakfast. On the last day of my stay there, someone entered my room and loosened one of the batteries in the remote control so that I couldn't watch TV. At one night, it was very noisy upstairs with the sounds of a couple of kids screaming & a woman shouting at them for hours. Nothing was done by the owner to shut them up. I strongly recommend anyone NOT to stay there!

“the owner is very greedy”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 July 2010

I payed for 6 nights in advance and had to leave after 3 days (the hotel uses cheap chemical cleansers and what's most ugly: air odorizers - in the first day, an awfull cigarette smell came all the way from all over window and bathroom). And guess what, the owner started a drama over the money, he would refund me only half - I have to pay for the current day due to the fact I haven't announced him (I checked out before 11 in the morning), that I had a discount for the fact I took 6 days in a raw and if I not agree with him, eventually he will give me no money back. And suddenly, guess what, he shows me a 'real' price on the walls of 70$ per room, not with 'discount'! For _that basic location, to speak indulgently! So, I lost 70$ and payed each day of staying in that 'cantina' with 70$, without my will, due to my imbecile way, never give money in advance for a place that hardly resists to the limit of obscurity.
