“Lovely Hotel”

My company had booked me a single room at Amarilia Hotel for 28 days and despite the length of stay, I never once felt home sick. The personnel was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and even though the breakfast started at 07:00 am, sometimes when I needed to leave early, they opened it for me at 06:30.

The hotel has a restaurant were I could eat every night at very low prices. But if I wanted to go out there is a big list of restaurants at a walking distance in Vouliagmeni or by taxi in Glyfada (a big town). Tip: ask for a list of things you can see or do, from the reception.

The hotel has free high-speed Internet connection throughout the hotel which made my work very easy and there is also a business centre where I could use a computer and printer for free.
What surprised me was that at my check out I forgot two jackets and a dress in the wardrobe and they shipped them for free in my office in Brussels within two days. Amarilia in Vouliagmeni is a hotel that I will definitely visit again for my vacation or for business and I will definitely recommend it to all my friends and family. Thank you for a comfortable and a lovely stay!

“Good place, could easily improve”

We booked Amarilia for 2 nights with Booking.com months in advance and got a good deal. The hotel falls short of the official 4 stars, but is an excellent place to stay for combining tourism in Athens with a swim, or for a stopover if you are ferrying with your car to/from Piraeus (10 mins. straight-ahead, westbound). On the plus side there are the location (a) a few meters away a small but clean beach (b) easy parking (c) bus 22, running into Athens centre westbound (20 mins) and to Cape Sounion eastbound, right behind the hotel (d) 2 mins. walk from a bunch of fish restaurants (we tried Panorama and Garbi: both were excellent and full of Athenians on a night out); the cleanliness of rooms; the kindness of staff; free internet access throughout and a dedicated pc with printer in the basement; the gentle touch of a fresh water bowl at the hotel door for thirsty dogs. On the minus side: signs of tear and wear; Ikea style furniture in rooms; old fashioned and noisy AC units; beds on castor wheels with a life of their own as you get close; not much of a view from the lower floors or street facing rooms; low quality produce at breakfast; very high price of beverages by the pool.

Room Tip: ask for higher floor with sea-view

Great view from the sea front upper floor rooms. The sea view was great! We stayed at the 6th floor and we really enjoyed taking breakfast at the balcony. Though room service it was the richest breakfast we ever had served at room compared to other more expensive hotels we stayed at the past. The room was clean and well decorated. People were friendly and polite.

Room Tip: Ask for upper sea view room. If you need to buy anything, There is no store close so it's best t...

“Excellent hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2011

I booked 19 rooms at this hotel for all my family and friends coming over for my wedding. I am extrenely happy with the communication beforehand, the agreed price, the quality of the rooms, the help with organising a lunch for everyone at the hotel, and the service in general. Anything we asked for was arranged for us, including sea view rooms for most guests, and some extras we asked for.

The staff at this hotel is very friendly and helpful, they speak English and some even French (good for my French guests). The pool area is nice, and the location is very convenient for the beach. There are a few tavernas within a short walk (500 meters) and shops/banks/cafes/supermarket within a slightly longer walk (1500 meters). I think the location is great for a short beach holiday close to Athens city centre, which is accessible by bus from the bus stop near the hotel.

Overall, highly recommended.

“Nice hotel, but far from the center.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2011

I went to Athens for a football tournament organized by our company, and I slept in a twin room for two nights. In general, I considered it a very good hotel. Although our rooms had views to the swimming pool, you can also get a room with views to the beach.

The rooms were clean and new. The service was fine, even though I'm not a very exigent traveller. The breakfast is also good.

One of the MAIN disadvantages is that the hotel is around 30 min. from the center of Athens and the taxis at night can cost around 35-40 euros.
