“Still a great place to stay”

This is a great hotel and this is the 4th time we have stayed here. We had a quad room overlooking the Acropolis. This is a basic, neat and clean hotel which you can get at a very good price. Location is great, very close to the Acropolis. To get to the hotel catch the metro from the airport, change trains at Syntagma and take the red line to Acropoli station. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from here.
The hotel offers a good breakfast, cerial, toast, greek cakes, ham, cheese, boiled eggs, fruit. Enough to give you a good start to the day.
The hotel rooms are a bit tight, but still comfortable, try get a room with a balcony overlooking the Parthenon.
The hotel is in a great location for sightseeing, buy yourself a metro day pass for 4 euro, this also lets you travel on buses. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but its sister restaurant, Herodian does.
If in athens on a Sunday, all archeological sites are free entry, if you cant get there on a Sunday, pay 12 Euros and this gets you into most of the sites including: the Acropolis, Roman Agora, Temple of Zeus and more - great value when you consider in London to visit St Pauls Cathederal cost you 14 pounds.
We will stay here again next time in Athens.

Tiny rooms, spotlessly clean! Ask for a room with a balcony.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a large balcony

“Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

This hotel is in a perfect location just beside the Acropolis and a short walk to Plaka the shopping area. Also only 5 minutes to the excellent metro system. The hotel is pretty basic but very clean and perfectly adequate. I was in room 602 which had a partial view of the Acropolis and a huge balcony, it had an adjoining door however to 601 and the wall was paper thin, I might as well have been sharing with the people next door as I could almost hear them breathing . Luckily they were pretty quiet but it was still annoying as they talked until about 1 each night. Otherwise the hotel is very quiet. The breakfast is quite nice but can get crowded- basic continental breakfast . Some of the hotel staff were friendly but the guy on the front desk in the evening was a bit grumpy. Wifi is available in bedrooms at a cost of 6 Euro per day. Rooms and bathrooms small. I paid 60 Euro for single room which was reasonable for the location

Room Tip: Don't take 602 if 601 is occupied these 2 rooms would be great for a family as they have an adjo...

“stingy with the internet”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

Reasonably nice room and balcony, good breakfast, but very stingy with the internet. A colleague and I there for a meeting over several days and we were supposed to get wifi included, but the staff were very reluctant to give us codes the evening of our arrival (they wanted us to pay extra but relented after some arguing, and pointing out that we would be leaving at lunchtime on the last day). There's just no excuse for being so cheap. Otherwise it's a reasonable price for the good location near the Acropolis.

“Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2011

American style hotel with very good facilities but rather bland if you enjoy local character. Chosen because of location. Strike day we arrived but no problem getting taxi. No trouble or demonstrators encountered in tourist area.Breakfast european style with the best yoghurt in 6 hotels on 4 week trip. Excellent bedroom with view of the Acropolis. Other with balcony for smoker. Courteous helpful staff. Recommended.

Room Tip: Fifth floor for view
