I was there for 2 nights on my way to the greek islands. the hotel is between Syntagma sq. and Peiraius port. so the location was great. comfortable rooms and friendly people all over

This hotel will NOT dissapoint you. For the past four years I've worked for an international travel camp that uses this hotel as a base in Athens. Since 2007 I've probably spent over 20 nights at the "Met", and it is absolutely a home away from home. The staff is attentive, the food is excellent, the pool has a beautiful view of the city, and the surrounding neighborhood is charming. Walk down a block to eat at Barba Lazaros, a nearby taverna with great food. The bus to Placa runs hourly and is very reliable on pickup times. I would never stay at another place in Athens. Tons of comfort in a beautiful Greek area of Athens.

I can see from the other reviews that I am one of few to leave a bad report about this hotel. In all honesty it was ok. But on my arrival there was a puddle of sick in the lift. The second night a number of people over the period of two hours (late evening, early morning) were shouting in the halls and banging on doors. The third night of my stay again a number of individuals obviously drunk out of their minds shouting in a room close by and in the hallway. Not only that the hotel had a private function party on downstairs that I could hear on the third floor! No consideration from staff or other guests for guests like myself who have meetings in the morning. I would not advise anyone stay in this hotel if here for work. It has just past 130 and seems that the music has stopped... Just need to wait for the drunks to go to sleep now.

I loved the location and the comforts offered by this hotel. The service was impeccable. Excellent bar and dining. The room was first rate. Highly recommended.
