The place was in a good location but the beds were exteremly uncomfortable. The people at the front desk were helpful and not too bad of a value for traveling. Close to the subway which was good.

Not wow hotel but nice and quiet location good for the money
Good basic hotel which is characteristic of a large hotel chain like the Best Western. Clean and tidy rooms and a reasonable breakfast included.
A short walk to transport being the underground station which would be about a 5-10 minute walk away.
I would give it 7 out of 10 if I could. Given the 5 star rating system I give it a 3.
Location wise it is good. Close to the metro (blue line) , close to some stores and in what seems to be a safe neighborhood. It took me roughly 30 minutes walk to get to the area around the Acropolis and maybe 15-20min to walk to Syntagma Square. The walk to the metro is 5 minutes.
The room is not bad but also not up to the 4 star rating. I had a double-bed room and it was spacious. It had AC. The lockers seemed old though and had a characteristic stale smell. Same can be said about the safe. There was a TV, it was small (perhaps 20") and the selection of international channels was rather poor. CNN, BCC , sometimes Eurosport was working. A few German and Spanish channels but mostly
Greek ones. What I disliked the most was the shower. Very small and with a floor with 2 levels!! So I had to be careful not to slip. The room was clean and quiet.
Breakfast was included. It was all-you-can eat but the food was the same every day.
There was enough to choose from (2 types of cold cuts, cheese, eggs, olives, small hot-dogs, bread, orange juice, etc) though.
There was Internet in the lobby and the 1st floor. If your room is on the 1st floor then you may be lucky and have internet in your room since you may be able to connect to the 1st floor wi-fi.
Staff was helpful and was speaking English well.
One more thing to mention is that at the time of the booking they had an offer online. Buy 4 nights get 1 free. I thought I qualified and told them about it. They told me they were sorry and that the offer is only valid starting in fall 2011 ( I stayed in June). But their site did not say that. It look like the offer was ongoing. All the had to say was "we are sorry".
They also modified the site and removed the offer. The way I see it is that they did not keep the promise they made on their website.
I stayed at this hotel for two nights while attending a medical meeting that took place in the Divani Hotel, just three blocks away. I chose this hotel among the three options that the organization of the meeting provided because it was a little cheaper than the Divani and had breakfast included in the price. I surely regret my decision and would have paid a little more just to stay somewhere else.
The hotel website says that it was renovated in 2004, but the property looks older. My room was smelly and quite dirty, it even had several bugs in the closet. It was also quite small and had a very poor soundproofing. The TV set was very old and did not work very well. I needed earplugs to sleep as on Saturday night there was disco music was pounding until 1 or 2 am. Breakfast was very poor and was not worth the price.
All in all, you should avoid this place...
