This hotel was very nice, liked the hotel decor, the staff, the ambiance. The room was nice, and there were no surprises. The only drawback was that the breakfast was 29 euros per person, a bit steep for just breakfast. There is a bakery and a cafe about 2 blocks around the corner that you can go to and only spend about 5 euros that I would recommend. Would recommend this property for sure!

The hotel was very, very nice. We booked the trip through a travel agency which included both air and hotel together. I gave the ages of teens and adults which came down to a different price being their both under age 17. But then we arrived at the hotel, and they charged an extra $30/day each for each teenager (paid an extra $540 plus tax). They should not have asked in booking the airlines and hotel the ages of the children. Seems when you book just airline and then add hotel they ask the ages of the children and they give a different price for just airline versus airline and hotel together. So ended up paying extra at hotel for teenagers which did not please me at all! Other than that, the hotel was very clean and rooms were very nice. Hotel restaurant were was very good and beautiful but pricey. The wait staff at restaurant very all very nice and friendly. The pool area also very nice and clean.

If you want the standand Marriott experience, you'll get it here. The rooms are large and appointed with all the necessary amenities that you would need. The hotel, though, does go beyond most Marriotts with a rooftop pool and very friendly staff. I had notified the staff ahead of time, that while we were transitting through Athens, we were traveling on a special occassion and they sent up an in-room treat.

The downside to this hotel is that it is far away from the Acropolis and the main sites. They do have a shuttle that take guests to the center of town -- though you'll need to check into frequency and hours of operation.

I was a bit surprised by my experience at the Ledra Marriott. I had heard that it was located in a bit of a questionable area before making the reservation, but I was not at all prepared upon arrival. The Marriott itself is comfortable enough. The rooms were clean, though they were noisy with sounds of next door neighbors and clearly had not been renovated in some time. The location which it resides is perplexing. It is not close enough for walking distance to any of the major sites and the neighborhood is not one which I would have ventured out on-foot after dark. The service was just ok. Overall it was an average stay (in a somewhat scary area) and one which I would likely not repeat.

We had a two night stay in Athens before departing on a cruise. Originally, we booked an apartment through VRBO.com. However, this turned out to be a disaster! The place was filthy, broken air conditioning, non-working toilet; you get the picture. Not the kind of place you wanted to stay for an anniversary trip. I went online to Priceline and won a bid for the Athens Ledra Marriott. We told the landlord we were leaving and caught a cab to the Marriott.

What a pleasure it was! The Marriott is located a bit out of the middle of things, but I know how to take a cab! It also offers a free shuttle service to Syntagma Square and back. However, if you want to get to the Acropolis early before the crowds, I highly recommend you skip the shuttle and take a cab.

If you have stayed in a Marriott at the States, you know what the rooms look like. This one was spotless, quite large, beautiful bathroom and nice amenities. The air conditioning worked great, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We did not find our room particularly noisy and could not hear any noise from adjacent rooms.

We loved the rooftop bar/restaurant. Absolutely beautiful view of the Acropolis and we actually ate there both nights as it was so hot when we were there, by the end of the day we had no energy left to go exploring. Enjoyed the food very much and did not find it overpriced for the area. We did not use the pool, but it looked clean and others seemed to be enjoying their swim.

In the morning, there's a large Starbucks right down the street if you need your coffee fix, and we always do! There's a bar in the lobby where you may order food. I don't recommend their Monte Cristo Sandwich; it was really an unusual presentation, and not in a good way.

Overall a very pleasant stay, and a very good value, considering what we paid for the room on Priceline. I have no plans to return to Athens, but would certainly consider the Marriott if I did.
