Needs a lot of renovation. Antique rooms and bathrooms. Very noisy avenue. You have to pay extra at breakfast for expresso coffee (and they say it is 5 stars!!!!!!!). Avoid this hotel. The intercontinental next door can be the same price and is much better. Only one advantage: the roof top terrace is quite nice with a bar and a swimming pool;

We had 2 adjoining non- smoking rooms. Very clean, wonderful comfy beds with good quality linens... Spacious by European standards... the bathrooms were clean and well appointed. The view from the pool, especially at night, was amazing!
Only con is location... It's a little far, but quiet compared to downtown, so we hot a good sleep. The shuttle made it relatively easy to get into town... And hey, I was in Athens, so I can't complain.
The hotel staff was very helpful.
A little pricey when you add in breakfast and Internet, but all the big chains do that and the room was MUCH better than the hotel in town that we stayed in before our return flight. So, I don't mind paying a little more for clean and comfort!

The hotel location is probably it's downside as it is it's upside.
It is located outside the city center ( about 3 minutes with taxi ), close to the conference center.
As Athens city center is built as a circle, the hotel location is great, as you can drive to one direction to arrive to the shopping center and historical sites, and if you are driving to the other way ( Pireos way ), you will get to the night life center at 3 minutes, all the best pubs and clubs are very closeby.
Hotel seems to be newly renovated, rooms are large.
Bed are Marriott beds, and that is the best in the industry.
The hotel highlight is the Japanease restorant downstairs: Kona Tai.
This is one of the best restoarants I've dined at, you are getting Dinner and a show. Highly recommended !!!

A trip this summer with the family wanted to be near the acropolis, but also near the beach, so we decided on this Marriott between both.
We start with the checkin, we waited in the lobby unti 4pm from 100 pm for our room!
The manager was called and all he had to say is that 400 pm is checkin!!! I also advised that I am a platinum member and have over a million Marriott points, the manager replied, we don't acknowledge, nor honor the Marriott reward system at this hotel. I called the Marriott hotline whilecwaitingin the lobby, and was apologized to, a hundred times, and that they would call the hotel to assist. At exactly 400 pm the room was ready, exactly the opposite of what I asked for, no view, no access near the elevators, nothing. I went downstairs to complain to the manager, he advised this is all they had for now!!
Made the best of it, proceeded to the rooftop pool, the views were amazing, the acropolis, st George, syntagma, etc, dinner at the hotel was not an option, after our treatment, so we proceeded to thanasis in monastiraki to have an awesome souvlaki. Very disappointed with the experience, there are better hotels in Athens to stay in, also, be forewarned of the prostitution in this area at night, very noticeable, not for a family with kids.
