“Nice location, noisy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

We stayed at this hotel in July 2011. I had booked an executive room, and was "upgraded" to a deluxe room. Don't get me wrong, the room was lovely, but it looked directly out onto a busy street, and was oh so noisy. We had also been led to believe when booking the hotel that they had connecting rooms. They don't. We were actually staying twice at this hotel on this trip, before and after a cruise. So when we were checking in the second time, I was again told that we were upgraded. I said that was nice, as long as we were not on the noisy road. No, they couldn't do that, so I declined the upgrade. This seemed to cause some problems, and it took them a while to find us our rooms. In the end we were in executive rooms, which are not nearly as nice as the deluxe, however it was much quieter and I was able to sleep. There was a taxi strike while we were there, and the staff was not helpful at all, they were obviously tired of people asking what they should do. Customer service at the front desk was lacking. The staff in the breakfast room was lovely, and the breakfast was very nice. The lobby of the hotel is very pretty, and the location was handy with the metro just a short walk away.

“Excellent location but very noisy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

I joined my husband on a business trip so can't comment on the room costs, wouldn't call this a five star property, though. We stayed in a room facing one of the busy main streets surrounding the hotel. I'm usually not that sensitive but the noise levels were very high throughout the day and, worse, the night. Bring earplugs or try getting a room facing the courtyard. Otherwise the room was good with a big bathroom and a lovely hot shower.

Breakfast was ok, nothing to write home about. One evening we had dinner in the rooftop restaurant before going out to a company do - good food but way overpriced!! Great view of the Acropolis but there are lots of other places that offer the same.

The redeeming factor is the location. The Acropolis, the Acropolis museum and the adjacent metro station are only a short walk away and a leisurely 20mn. walk through charming little alleyways along the bottom of the Acropolis hill takes you into the old town quarter called Plaka. All in all the hotel did the job for me as I was in Athens to do some sightseeing. I definitely wouldn't pay the inflated rack rates they advertise on their website, though.

Room Tip: Try to get a room that doesn't face the street, windows aren't soundproof and there's tr...

“a royal stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

My boufriend(then, now is my husband) had booked a suite in this hotel for a romantic weekend. The room was a palace, very big, spacious with classical furniture and a great view! However, when i found out the price....well...the romance went away!!! Hotels of the same level out of Greece are more affordable.

“Charming location but crisis probably hit them!”

I got to say that having breakfast on the terrace at the 7th floor of this hotel has been lightening my trip, the view of the Acropolis is stunning. But, unfortunately the comfort of the hotel is not at the same level. My room was dark, I asked 3 times to fix the problem with no luck. When I arrived to the hotel my TV had 8-10 channel, by the time I left there were 3 left. Contacted the reception, same story "we will fix it" but nothing.
Still Ok for a business trip

Room Tip: Upper floor and suites

“Very Nice Hotel”

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in December , The hotel is very clean and the staff friendly. We were upgraded the room was big with bathrobes slippers water and minibar and a great bed. View from the rooftop bar was amazing. Good location can walk everywhere. We done a few trips but most of the time we walked to the sights as they were close by. The breakfast was good. We had a meal in the hotel the first night the meal was good but very expensive but then if you want nice food you have to pay for it. Would stay here again if ever in Athens.
