“Nice business hotel, good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

I stayed here for 3 days, because I had all-day business meetings at the hotel's conference rooms. Overall, the hotel is very good, but not perfect.

I was in room 426 and my balcony faced the Acropolis in the distance, which was really enjoyable. The room was spacious enough, clean and well furnished. The bathroom was big, with a bathtub and a walk-in shower, and some nice cosmetic products.

The breakfast was also very good, with a variety of hot and cold dishes, eggs (as you want them), mushrooms, tomatoes with cheese, lots of cheeses and 2-3 ham choices, salad bar with great olives...etc.

Conference rooms were OK, but were either too cold or too hot..somehow (it could be just my perception...)

The lobby is big and shiny, just as you would expect from a Hilton. The location was great, as it was just 10min walking distance from a metro station, but you could also easily walk to the city centre. Also, there were a lot of nice restaurants nearby.

However, the internet connection inside my room was very poor and cost EUR 30 for 2 days! First, no WiFi, even though advertized. The cable connection was slow and took some time to upload documents, which is not something I would expect in a five star facility in the EU.

Also, there was no room service during the first day, due to strike, but I guess I cannot blame this solely on the hotel management.

To conclude - a very good hotel which could use some improvements

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the Acropolis. You can see it in the distance, but it certainly adds up to the...

“Amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

I'm a "fan" of the Hilton hotels because of their standards in every aspect. I'm also a HiltonHonors Silver member. This 2-night stay in Athens Hilton was the first in 2012. My precedent stays, especially in 2010, were not so good because of negative experience with the breakfast (see my relative review of June 2010). Now, the "breakfast problems" are solved. The breakfast in the Byzantine restaurant was really amazing: a lot of foods, and an Asian corner too! For the rest of the hotel I cannot find something wrong. All were perfect. In the Byzantine restaurant, except of breakfast, I had an a-la-cart dinner at a very special price: 25 Euro's per person (unbelievable for this Hilton restaurant). The dinner was excellent and consisted of a starter, a main course (beef fillet), a dessert and a big glass of wine. It seems that the economic crisis in Greece conducts to lower prices everywhere, even in the Hilton.

“A well run Hilton”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

I was moved here at short notice to avoid inconvenince caused by the transport strikes. Check in was reasonably efficient and the room (a standard one at the back of the hotel) was comfortable enough. Dinner in the main ground floor restaurant was very good value (there was some kind of special offer menu), and breakfast (in the same place) was also fine.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front have good views

“Hilton is a guarantee!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

I had to come to athens for a conference and was alittle bit buffled on where to book. I was recommended to stay at Hilton and I made the decision to do that. I think it is a value for money. Spacious rooms, excellent services and great options for lunch and dinning. I loved all the areas of the hotel but mostly the Hiltonian spa as well as the indoor swimming pool. They use Ozone and the water feels great! It was a relaxing experience and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Athens.

“Conference”

From Airport 30-40 mins taxi. 35 euro. Fresh crisp entrance to hotel with a good layout of reception. The satff were very pleasant and helpfull in advising of hotel facilities etc, check in was swift and easy. My room was looking over the Acropolis so at night you fave a great view especially from 9th floor. The rooms were excellent and probably on of the best bathrooms I have ever been in luxury all the way. Couldn't fault the room and historic view at all. The TV was flatscreen, internet included, bed very comfortable, linen clean and fresh, room service good and the maids were superb they were efficient and the room was done to perfection, All facilities were very good the only real gripe was the price of the drinks on the roof bar was seriously expensive a round of drinks for 4 people would be 60 euros plus and thats for beers and wine not champers. I used all facilities including pool and gym thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend to anyone if budget permits. The hotel food was good but not great and typical Greek fayre plenty of olives feta etc It was a tad overpriced and just ordinary but the location and the fact that there were plenty of resturants locally more than made up for it. A good few days would go back.

Room Tip: The rooms facing the Ancient Acropolis are better for the view at night.
