“Clean and central in Piraeus”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

Easy to find if you walk along the port side to gate E10. Cross the main road to the RBS corner and take third on the right up the hill. Faros is about 50 yds on the left side of the road. The boys on reception were friendly and helpful and the rooms clean with loads of hot water and a good powerful shower. The rooms varied in style and on our 2nd visit we had a huge room with jacuzzi bath and mirrored ceiling and walls! Faros is in an excellent location between the marina and the ferry port. It was about a fifteen minute walk with luggage to Gate E7 for the ferry to Santorini. If you come out of the hotel and take first left and walk up the hill and over the main road and down the other side you come to the marina and a lovely promenade with a good selection of tavernas and cafes. Well worth a visit just to see a different side to Piraeus. We were allowed to leave our luggage on the day of departure as we were not flying until night time. This gave us an extra day to explore Athens. A good hotel to choose if you are going for a ferry.

“Very close to the port”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 October 2011

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights just before we went on a cruise and it was conveniently a 5 minute walk to the port. The staff were extremely nice. One man in particular was very helpful and told us what we should see in Athens. The room was very clean and provided extra pillows and blankets. The room had an ashtray but we couldn't smell cigarette thank goodness. The bathroom was clean and the water pressure was pretty good. There was a supermarket just down the road. The hotel also had a lift! They don't provide breakfast but you can buy it downstairs as they had a menu for food and coffee.

“Maybe great if you are smoker, otherwise not so much”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 June 2011

We selected a non-smoking preference when making the reservation but were only offered smoking rooms when we arrived late at night with no option to change hotels. Even if you are a smoker, i bet it's hard to get a good night's sleep in an ashtray, which is how this rooms felt/smelled.

“Very nice hotel. Easy taxi ride to the center.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2009

We stayed at Faros 2 for two nights (September 12th and 13th). We paid 50 euros per night. The rooms are very clean and surprisingly large. For Europe we were actually shocked how big they were. The room had extra sitting area with pullout sofa. We also had a large balcony. The shower is very decent, nothing spectacular but clean. We were really happy to see the glass doors in the stand up shower. Most of the time in Greece the shower is just a part of the bathroom with no curtain at all. The AC worked excellent and not too loud. If you need internet connection, just ask at the reception and they will give you free modem to use in your room. The double bed is two twin beds put together. But it should be expected in Greece. The hotel offer a large breakfast for 6 euros which is enough to split with another person. It includes cereal, cold cuts, some vegetables, bread with different spreads, croissant, tea/coffee.jouce. The hotel is in the third street parallel to the port of Pereus, so you could walk to it. The taxi to the center of Athens (Monasteraki) is only 11 euros, which was surprisingly cheap. We didn't even bother with municipal transport, only to go to the airport where you can take bus x96 from the port. Overall, would stay at Faros again.

“Great location for transit through to Piraeus Port.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 April 2009

We arrived at approximately 1am and the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. We were only staying the one night as we were catching a cruise ship from Piraeus Port the next morning, and had wanted somewhere nearby.

The room was very clean and comfortable, with plenty of room to move and a balcony with a view of the surrounding streets.

The directions to the port given to us by reception were extremely easy and we were able to navigate our way to the terminal building without a problem.

The breakfast was an extra 6 euro per person which we didn't go in for. Instead, my husband found a nearby bakery and brought back a breakfast of very nice chocolate croissants from there.
