What a place. Located in a dodgy area of town across from a corner with tons of prostitutes. The reception was unhelpful, didn't even know how to place a call out. That said it was pretty cheap, quiet and the beds were comfortable. There's a metro stop nearby so its easy to get anywhere in the city. Definitely gives you a taste of the seedy side of Athens.

I don't usually stay at hostels but have in the past. When I booked this place it said it was a hotel and mentioned nothing about the shared bathroom. Needless to say we were a little let down upon arrival. The owner seems overly pushy for you to stay there, showing us all of the rooms he had to offer including one with a guest fast asleep on the bed. The rooms are disgustingly cheap even according to hostel standards. The location is also a bad area. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

I stayed here with friends on a very 'cheap and cheerful' backpacking holiday - i had read reviews and honestly expected the worst, but for the price you pay its really not that bad....the rooms were unbelievably hot though, we couldnt sleep!
There is also some comedy value in the owner who's wig seems permanently stuck to the side of his head, who kept telling us to 'relax' all the time....as i said, not great, but doable for 1 night if you want something cheap in centre of Athens.

athens house is located in one of the dodgiest, seediest parts of athens! we rocked up on a friday night and our cab driver straight away said 'oh no'
getting out the cab there were a lot of prostitutes and drug dealers in the vacinity. the manager wears an enormous creepy wig and basically bullied us into coming indoors but in hindsight was probably better than going back outside!
it was really dirty, we didnt feel safe and there was only 1 shower which was rank
100% do not stay here we didnt sleep a wink!!!
