I was here for just one night as I was passing through Athens. When I checked in there was a really lovely lady on front desk and I was also happy with my room : small but clean and functional. The bathroom was in the room and it was fine.
I went up to see their famous view on the Acropolis from the top floor bar. It was an excellent view, but I wasn't interested in listening to the top volume music and musings of tipsy teenagers. My room was on the first floor thank god so I could only just hear the music when I went to bed. I would have died if I had been on one of the higher floors though.. Anyway, I was pretty happy about the whole stay until the next monring when I went down for breakfast. There was a young guy there who turned out ot be one of the staff who was coming on in a very slimey way to the girls who were having breakfast. I felt quite uncomfortable. I had to leave anyway because I was late for my flight and the guy, after having tried it out on me as well then decided not to come to the reception desk to check me out. He actually explicitly told me eventually that 'I would have to beg him' to check me out............. and he continued snickering with a friend of his behind the bar.
What can I say, it was a very unpleasant and sleazy sort of atmosphere, so different from when I had checked in. I guess the owner (if that is what that lady was, although I doubt it) doesn't know or doesnt care what her twenty-something slimy boys get up to with the foreigners in the morning. In any case, I found the whole experience that morning so bizzare and so sleazy that for the first time when I was in the airport I found myself telling myself thank god I am leaving Greece. Pity, one arsehole should never put you off a place, but I found his whole attitude to myself and to other girls there deeply disturbing.
