I can't say I'm really a fan of dorms, but I have generally had good experiences at hostels. This one had all the ingredients to be a good one, but I just felt that enough effort hadn't really been made.
To start with, it wasn't a bargain. I was travelling with a friend, for the price of 2 dorm beds we later found out that we could have had our own en suite room in a pension in the centre of town.
The hostel's assets are that it has a garden, a kitchen, a good sized lounge, and it's a good place to meet people. It's also near the Bolhao metro stop.
Bad points are that there was no lock on the bathroom door (the bathroom was straight off the dorm and shared between 10), the door to the dorm seemed to be left open all the time, towels and lockers cost extra, you have to make your own beds and breakfast was just awful. Half an hour into brekfast, there were hardly any plates & cups out, meaning you had to go & search for them, there was no juice left, the hot drinks were all cold, and then you had to wash up after yourself.
I've stayed in better places to be honest!
