“Cheap and young”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 April 2011

I've been in this hostel for 5 nights with other 9 friends, we had a very big room, one confortable bathroom, we could use the kitchen downstairs and the pc with internet for free, every bedroom has its electronic code so it's pretty safe. The only bad sides are the garden outside (could be tidier) and the absence of curtains at the windows, pure sun light in your eyes every morning. The price however is exceptionally low and includes breakfast. The hostel is a little bit far from the most popular places for night life, but still with 15-20 minutes walk you reach them and anyway it is 5€ with a taxi.

“Check out the garden”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 October 2010

This hostel has the vibe for backpackers. Good rooms with a bathroom attached to each dorm. Free breakfast is great...lot of juice, cheese, fresh bread, cereal etc.

But best of all is the garden with the bar. Excellent place to hang around meeting others.

“All you need”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 April 2009

The hostel is conveniently located, walking distance to all major sights and the city center. Staff was friendly and helpful. It feels absolutely safe there. Facilities were clean and everything you might need was provided. Dorms are either with 6 or 8 beds, but luckily our rooms were never full. So, I can definitely recommend this property to you. Although, that has to be said as well, it's no bargain. We paid 18 euros per night/bed.

“All the ingredients are there, but it's still pretty average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2007

I can't say I'm really a fan of dorms, but I have generally had good experiences at hostels. This one had all the ingredients to be a good one, but I just felt that enough effort hadn't really been made.
To start with, it wasn't a bargain. I was travelling with a friend, for the price of 2 dorm beds we later found out that we could have had our own en suite room in a pension in the centre of town.
The hostel's assets are that it has a garden, a kitchen, a good sized lounge, and it's a good place to meet people. It's also near the Bolhao metro stop.
Bad points are that there was no lock on the bathroom door (the bathroom was straight off the dorm and shared between 10), the door to the dorm seemed to be left open all the time, towels and lockers cost extra, you have to make your own beds and breakfast was just awful. Half an hour into brekfast, there were hardly any plates & cups out, meaning you had to go & search for them, there was no juice left, the hot drinks were all cold, and then you had to wash up after yourself.
I've stayed in better places to be honest!
