We flew into Porto and hired a car to drive up to Galicia in Spain. We booked this hotel for the evening of our arrival in Portugal so that we could travel to Spain the next morning.
Driving up the motorway, following the directions given on the hotel website, we found ourselves at the Service Area with the hotel on the otherside of the carriageway. The bridge linking the two areas was closed for construction, so we had to drive 9km to the next exit, pay a toll and head back another 9km to the hotel.
At the hotel we were advised that we would have to exchange our toll ticket when on departure because our ticket would incur an additional charge after 12 hours.
In the morning we exchanged tickets and drove 1km south to the toll booth where we werewcharged Euro 19.90 !! The reason ? The hotel receptionist had given us the wrong ticket !!!
When we arrived back in UK I complained to Ibis and received the following message in return :

Well, thanks Carla... but I am still nearly 20 Euros out of pocket because of a mistake by your staff !
