We had looked forward to staying in a pousada but after our visit to Sao Vicente we left very disillusioned. From the outside the place looks tired and run down. I noted on our walk down to the room three large tears on the carpet. I was perturbed that I was asked 4 euros for wi-fi and then discovered i could only get it at reception. The place seemed deserted. We had a cup of coffee at bedtime and noted that the cups were still sitting unwashed on the counter next morning. Meantime the wi-fi connection could not be obtained anywhere in the building. We had a satisfactory breakfast in a large dining area with a capacity for 250 people and to our surprise discovered 2 other people staying in the place. I think they were also surprised to discover signs of life in the building.
I told the receptionist that it was a terrible hotel. She replied "Okay!". I advised her that despite the large sign on the wall they did not care for their customers. She replied "Okay".
Certainly the one overall comment I can make about our visit is "IT WAS NOT OKAY!"
