Hotel Residencial Dona Sofia it’s a charming hotel in Braga City Center. The location is superb, near the historical center and streets with no cars and lots of stores good for shopping.
The hotel is an old building, functional, charming. The rooms are spacious, with many windows and “fresh” light.
All bedrooms have minibar, flat LCD TV and free wifi internet.
It has a free outside parking (on the street) for 4 or 5 cars.
A very good option to stay in Braga.

This was a very nice hotel run by extremely nice people. They were all very friendly and helpful, even gave us wonderful restaurant suggestions. The location couldn't be beat. It is right in the center of this lovely town. We even watched a Holy Procession from our window. Best seats in the house. It is a 10 minute from the seedy Braga bus station. Our room was good-sized and the bathroom huge. Everything was spotless. We paid 70 euro including breakfast which consisted of breads, meats, cheeses, cereals, yogurt and fresh fruit. All rooms had free wi-fi.

Braga is like most small cities in europe - full of one way streets but the locals are more than happy to point you in the right direction(s) after they have had a lenghthy discussion about who knows the best way to get you to where you want to go! But seriously this is a friendly, tidy - if a little compact - hotel with a lovely piazza within a stone's throw (read lots of small and cheap but nice eateries) - the price is right - a double bed with a/c for 50 Euros including breakfast and secure parking if you have a car. If you're in the neighbourhood it's a good option instead of the overpriced 'chains'.

Last year when I lived in Braga, the Sofia was the place for relatives to come and stay when they were visiting. It is very well placed in the centre of the city on a very pretty cobbled square. The rooms are well equipped with lovely marble bathrooms, comfortable beds and lovely views of the many church spires, including Se, the cathedral. Breakfast is an excellent buffet - try the quince jelly which goes very well with cheese. The staff are typically reserved but have a chat and they soon warm to you. I would always go back here. As an aside, the pastelaria (bakery) across the square is the best in town.
