I stayed with my husband and two kids, 8 and11, in August 2011 and could not fault the customer service. In particular Miguel Grosse, the Customer Services manager, was so professional and personally welcomed us to the hotel and to our utter delight, upgraded us to the presidential suite. This made our holiday even more special and made our stay at this beautiful island and hotel extra special. We will certainly be going again and will most definitely stay at the Pestana Grand again. The resort is spacious, very clean with very friendly and professional staff.

Brilliant facilities, lovely granite bathrooms nice and modern, loved sauna, Turkish bath, good gym and indoor pool, very clean hotel and very high class.. Only criticisms are food/drink prices in the hotel are too high, the televisions are very small and dated old box style 21" and the beds are two singles pushed together. Reduce food and drink prices by at least 20%, Bring in double beds and a 32" LCD tv and you have a perfect luxury hotel

Excellent hotel in a lovely situation with easy access to town centre. The rooms are very comfortable, clean, spacious and very well looked after and all the hotel facilities are excellent. We had a room with a side sea view and the view from our balcony was magnificent. All the receptionstaff are very friendly and helpful and deal quickly and efficiently with requests no matter how large or small. The restaurant staff are also friendly, helpful and polite, nothing is too much troubl for them. We spent Christmas and New Year at Pestana Grand, the best winter holiday we have ever had. The food in all the restaurants was to die for and to a very high standard. This hotel far exceeds it's 5 star rating. We will certainly stay there again and are already planning next Christmas and New Year at Pestana Grand.
