Not much to add to the other reviews, staff were very pleasant, everything was clean, breakfast was OK, pool is small but warm. The rooms do need updating, beds a bit squeaky. Didn't try the restaurant as we did not wish to be the only people eating there! Our photos show the view from the terrace and the distance from the high rise places.

If you don't like big hotels this is the one for you! It is a nice hotel in a nice setting with a pleasant breakfast/dining room. You have a good look over Funchal and the sea from this room. But it is some noise from the traffic.

This was a lovley place to stay. We enjoyed the walk into Funchal through the parks.
There are lots of restaurants nearby, and Reids Hotel is wonderful for an indulgent afternoon tea!
The highlight w.s a trip to the Tropical Gardens - just beautiful! An absolute must is the 'Toboggan Run' - what an experience!
we took a mini bus tour up into the mountains - quite breathtakingly wonderful views. We also enjoyed the local music concert.
Highly recommended. I want to return to see and do more!

Chose this hotel as we wanted to be nearer town centre, about 15 min walk. Asked for and got quiet room. Excellent staff, welcoming and friendly. Comfortable but rooms will require upgrading in future. Whilst standard of housekeeping was excellent there were some maintenance niggles which should have been put right.
