My wife and I stayed here three nights in January and ate in the main restaurant two of those nights. It's a very quiet month; there were no more than three other rooms booked at the same time. But that was great! I got the pool to myself every morning, we played snooker on the biggest table I've ever seen, 6 feet by 12 feet, and the dinners were splendid. Even better was the buffet breakfast, my favorite meal of the day. The property has wonderful old trees, a view of the city and ocean, and was a nice base for exploring both the city and the island. Great WiFi, too.

Stayed at Quinta da Bela Vista with my wife and we were impressed in every way. Definitely a five star that pays attention to every detail, extremely friendly and efficient staff was always available to fulfill our needs. Large and comfortable room with private balcony is worth mentioning. The gardens and decoration are unique, at every corner we had pleasant surprise. Excellent breakfast and outstanding dinner experience with exceptional food at the main restaurant located at the historic “casa mãe” (Quinta´s old building). Free van service to downtown Funchal is definitely a plus!

Stayed here for my wife's Birthday.we were in a Garden Room but would not rate at 5*. no tea or coffee facilities in room. peaceful and quiet . Mini bus to run you in to Funchal and back during day up to 5 45pm but not on Sunday. Staff were excellent from Manager to Gardeners.
Good choice for breakfast. but evening restaurant expensive but excellent food.

been there on april 2011 for 3 nights, as our base in madeira. located close to the main highway yet very quiet and wellcoming. service excellent. pool and spa well serviced. not luxurious but special.
