My wife and I had stayed at this hotel about 5 years ago and I wanted to return with all of our family as it was my 60th birthday. We booked through Hotelsbooked, and we got a very good all inclusive deal.
The hotel is very pleasant, if a little old fashioned, but I like that. Our rooms were on the first floor, they overlooked the sea and were large and well appointed. The lounge area was very pleasant, and the staff were friendly.
Breakfast and dinner were both buffet style although we quite quickly got bored with the food and the dining room - this wasn't a problem for us, we ate out about 4 times in the evenings. If we had been on a restricted budget then it might have been a different story.
Lunches were taken in the pool bar, but we actually only ate there once because we were out and about - the food was cooked in the main kitchens and then carried about 50 yards to be served. Its probably different in the high season.
There was some form of entertainment in the lounge most evenings, OK its a bit naff, but not too awful.
Quinta do Sol is ideally situated between the town and the Lido, its not a huge hotel, but its comfortable and its a pleasant place to spend a relaxing week.
I shall stay there again
