Great to see pool area had been resurfaced so much easier to walk on. Hotel is as nice as last visit with the added bonus of having a nice Italian restaurant to eat in just in front of main door of hotel. Hotel staff just as welcoming as last time with a few actually remembering myself and my wife from our first visit there.
The only slight negitive is the themed buffet still disappionting not from cost perspective. It's not up to general standard of hotel.
However plenty of nice restaurant's in the general area if you don't want to dine Italian in hotel.

We went to CS 24 october 2011 to stay for a week.. We were so looking foreward to the stay and have ordered the best room with the sea view and it was all so wonderful. Unfortunately my husbond got sick 26. oct. and we had to call the doctor ( who is brilliant) and the next day went to the hospital. The rest of our holiday we spent in the room with room service. However we would like to say thank you cause all the staff was so helpful and caring and a special thanks to Claudia who cared so much that I cried every time I saw her.
We do hope to come back in a year or two, when my husbond is better and will so much like to stay at this hotel again. It is nice to know that you can get help when you need it.

We unfortunately booked a four star hotel close to CS Madeira which turned out to be more like a 2 star. We moved to the CS Madeira after one day stay at the Four Views (which we called Pontins) Our first impression of the CS Madeira was excellent with friendly efficient staff. We were offered complimentary coffee whilst they arranged for us to view a selection of rooms. Having selected our room we could not wait to move! There is a feeling of space and light wherever you are in the hotel.

The level of service and quality of food never waivered. Our stay included Christmas and New Year. Christmas Eve included cocktails whilst we were entertained by a most professional choir followed by an excellent dinner. New Years Eve exceeded our expectations. Opera singers were flown from Portugal to sing between each course (there were seven). Before midnight we were escorted to the roof terrace and with champagne in hand watched the most amazing firework display. This was followed by supper, a band and dancing until the small hours.

This hotel is a very high standard in terms of customer service. Mr Laasri the Guest Relations Manager was both professional and friendly making time to speak to all guests and ensure their needs were met.

The spa is delightful with very professional and friendly staff offering a wide range of treatments.

The food which was of high quality was both well presented and appetising. Whilst there is wide range of food offered if there is something in particular you want the chef will prepare it personally.

We had a seaview room with balcony and found it spacious and comfortable.

The hotel is in an excellent location for the local bus service but only about a 20 minute walk into town and the same in the opposite direction to a very good shopping centre, the forum.

The worst part of staying in this hotel was having to leave. We felt very much at ease throughout our stay, met some delightful people, both staff and other guests and this would certainly be our first hotel of choice in Madeira.

The CS Madeira Atlantic Resort & Sea SPA Regency Palace, Estrada Monumental 275, 9000-100 Funchal, is a beautiful five star hotel on the south coast of Madeira in the Islands capital Funchal.

The hotel is big, roomy, bright and colourful making great use of natural flora in the high ceiling areas within the hotel.

The staff were absolutely excellent - friendly, energetic and willing to be most helpful for any consideration. English is widely spoken.

The Hotel Spa and sports facilities are excellent.

The Hotel is situated on the sea-front. As there are few beaches in Funchal the CS Madeira Atlantic Resort & Sea SPA provide excellent access points to the beautiful warm sea, which seems to contain pure goodness in the form of some natural sea oils that improves your skin. There are many sea loungers in large sun worshiping areas on this vast frontage to the sea. Access to this area is by lifts and underground walkways because of the hilly terrain.

The choice of food in the restaurants in the Hotel and along the sea-front is great with lots of choice. Breakfasts are to die for.

The hotel bars and lounges, where live acts play are just ideal to round off each busy day on holidays.

The bedrooms are warm and well furnished.

The place has to get 10 out of 10!

Tours from the Hotel to the many historical places on the Island of Madeira are easily arranged. Make sure to visit the Nuns Valley. Sight-seeing tours of Funchal are available on open-top buses from the street outside the Hotel.

Fillet Steak on the Stone is memorable. Nice for a night away, though it is only walking distance from the hotel.
