Stayed at Casa das Senhoras Rainhas on last two days of August 07.

The Hotel is excellent. It's small with about 10 rooms, ours (Room Filipa) had a balcony overlooking the courtyard just inside the village walls. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and it's in a perfect position for exploring the small but beautiful village.

We dined in the Hotel restaurant on the first night and food and service were excellent. There are many other restaurants, cafes souvenhir shops and a couple of good traditional bars all within a couple of minutes walk.

If you are thinking of a visit here, you probably know all this, but I'll point it out just in case:
1.Obidos is a maze of tiny cobbled streets and you can't really get around without climbing steep hills or steps.
2.You will be OK with "smart casual" in the evening.
3. You could "see" the village, including a walk around the walls in half a day. We spent one day / two nights there and got a real good feel for the relaxed atmosphere and beauty of the place.
4. Obidos is an excellent base for touring the area with many other places and beaches within an hour's drive.

We will definitely return to Obidos, the Casa das Senhoras Rainhas and the surrounding area and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

I would highly recommend Casa das Senhoras Rainhas. It is a lovely small hotel within the castle walls and everything about it was perfect. The staff were extremely friendly. The room was lovely. Ours had a nice little terrace facing the castle walls where we were able to sit in the morning to eat our breakfast. Breakfast is pre ordered the night before and you can choose the time you wish to have it and whether you would like it in your room or in the dining room. The hotel also provided us with a welcome drink, and in the room we found a lovely yummy chocolate cake each, a bowl of fruit and some port.
I definatly hope I get to go back to Obidos and stay at this wonderful hotel again.

The smell in this place was incredible and the service superb. The location within the tiny village is not really a problem, everything is central. Tastefully furnished and supplied with delicious chocolate brownies, port wine and fresh fruits upon arrival was nice too. We had a room overlooking the old castle wall which was fine too. The breakfast system where you order the night before and the table is set for when you are ready is great too. The menu was sumptuous! True what people say about the village though. Its tiny so arrive late afternoon and that will be enough time for seeing everything.

A lovely little gem in the middle of Obidos. First off, we LOVED Obidos..fabulous little town walled town filled with romance and magic. The hotel is small, 10 rooms, which normally isn't my cup of tea but the service and the extra touches are above and beyond.We were greeted by 3 lovely woman at the front desk who right away delivered a welcome drink, fruit and chocolate cake to our room which had a balcony right next to the castle wall. They replenish the fruit and water daily. The rooms are not over the top luxuriously but comfortable, modern and clean and the balcony makes it magical. There's a nice lounge area with a fireplace and the restaurant is fabulous. Overall the superiour service and little extras put this hotel far above other 4 stars that I've stayed in.
