Obidos is a strange place - rather shabby and touristy, although if it was spruced up a bit it could be very nice. The hotel itself is trying very hard to be a boutique hotel but slightly misses the mark. It is also difficult to drive to and you may find yourself having to drag your cases up steep and slippery cobbled streets, if your transport is unable to access the hotel. Rooms comfortable, but a bit bare and television has no English speaking channels. Fruit, wine and a cocolate confection is in your room on arrival which is a nice touch. There is a restaurant attached which has a menu with a huge selection on it,but very pricey and overambitious, it was also completly empty when we ate there. Breakfast is delicious, it even has home baked cakes on offer! The trouble with this hotel is tat it is very expensive and the cost is not justifiable. We had a room which cost over 180 euros and that is too much for what you get.
