To be fair, VIP Executive Barcelona has a good location (especially for visiting the university next door or the Gulbenkian foundation down the street) and is fairly good value. But for anyone visiting Lisbon for the first time, it may be more attractive to stay somewhere closer to the seaside and the historic neighborhoods. The decoration is extremely dated - it may have been the latest trend in the late eighties, but has not aged too well. Nonetheless, it's clean and comfortable enough. It does not have free wi-fi, but as my room was facing the university behind, I was able to use their wi-fi.
