“Good hotel but...”

A friend of mine reserved this hotel for us. The location is good enough. You can easily reach the Metro stop in 5 minutes. In any case, taxis in Lisbon are rather cheap.
The rooms are large enough for a business trip. The main issue is that they are not very clean. Hair enywhere in the bathroom, holes and stains in the blanket for the whole 4-day stay. I assume this is something usual. Breakfast is a regular one. Nothing to blame or to remember.
Reception staff was usefull and helpful. Other only plus: free wifi.

close to metro line, so could not open window to sleep, rooms tiny, ventilation system noisy too.certainly not 4 star . although the waitress at breakfast was the 1 nice person there. only saving grace location, but would not recommend at all. final insult was vending machine style coffee, lousy!

“Overall a good hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

I've stayed at this hotel a couple of times now and find it to be good value. It is a little way out of the city centre but close to two metro stops and taxis are fairly cheap.
The rooms are modern, clean and fairly spacious.
The breakfast buffet is good, and staff in general friendly and helpful.
Just a couple of minor negatives- the rooms are not particularly well lit, and also plays background music into the room every time you put your key card into the electricity switch. Personally I don't see the point in having background music in a hotel room and after a few days started to find it a little irritating..
But overall I would recommend this hotel to other travelers!

“Great value - quick metro ride or taxi to action”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

This hotel is in the business district area - not the best restaurants around. There are two metro stops nearby and taxis to the main attractions are cheap.

Grocery store nearby and bus stop for airport transfer.

Skip the included breakfast coffee.

Staff are friendly and helpful.

“Mixed Bag...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

We stayed here the first 2 nights of our 14 day trip to Portugal/Spain as well as another night after returning from Porto/Coimbra (so 3 nights total). This hotel is in the business district and a bit out of the way but it is close to the subway lines and is in a quiet area so it was fine in terms of location.

The room that we had for the first 2 nights was well appointed however, however, the air conditioning did not work and did not cool the room down to a comfortable level (the temperatures were unseasonably high for Oct. in Lisbon). The mini-fridge also was broken. I brought this to the attention of the hotel staff immediately but nothing was done during the course of our 2 night stay. Frankly the staff at this hotel were not very friendly but I can live with that. The room we had on our return to Lisbon (3rd night) was much better in that the AC worked well as did the mini-fridge.

So 3 stars overall because of the negative situation we encountered our first 2 nights. If the staff had taken care of the problems the first 2 nights I probably would give this hotel 4 stars.

Room Tip: Stay away from the 5th floor.
