“Good price and excellent location”

I was in this small hotel in May 2010 when I was in Lisbon to go to the Rock in Rio concerts.
The rooms were nice, quite big and very clean. The breakfast was simple but adequate.
The location was good, close to cafes, restaurants and supermarkets. Is housed in a very nice neighborhood of Lisbon. It is still very close to El Corte Ingles and the metro.
Very nice!

“Quiet, clean, friendly, small, and good value for your money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2009

Residencial Italia Hotel is a small hotel in a rather quiet neighbourhood somewhat out of the city centre. The next bus stop is about five minutes away, to the next metro stations (São Sebastião (blue line) and Campo Pequeno (yellow line)) it takes about the same time, which give excellent connections to both the airport (appr. 30min) and the city centre (appr. 15min) . In its surroundings there are several small shops, restaurants, cafés, and supermarkets so that you do not need to go to the city centre if you do not want to.
The whole hotel seems to have been renovated within the last few years, everything is fresh and very clean. The rooms are small, basic, but very functional and the furniture in a good quality. Depending on the purpose of your trip, the "inner" rooms of the hotel, of which there are four on each floor, might be a negative point. My room e.g. had its window to a larger ventilation shaft only, which made it very dark. Since I was out quite early in the morning and came back rather late at night this was not a problem for me. If you plan to stay somewhat longer in your room during daytime, it might be a good idea to specifically ask for one of the rooms facing the very large and nice backyard or the street.
In the price included was a rich breakfast buffet consisting of cornflakes, chokoflakes, milk, coffee, tea, juices, different breads and rolls, cheese, goat cheese, ham, different kinds of jam, and fruits, which was diligently refilled.
One distinguishing characteristic was the uniformly friendly and helpful staff, who made you feel very welcome.

“Clean, Quiet Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 March 2008

This was a very quiet hotel and the rooms were simple and clean. It looks like this hotel may have been renovated within the last few years. Things seems bright and clean. The breakfast was included and consisted of sliced meat, sliced cheese, a variety of breads, cereals, and fresh fruit. Beverages were orange juice, coffee and tea. After a week in Spain where none of our breakfasts were included, this breakfast was much enjoyed. It is on a quiet street, but expect to walk about 10 minutes to get to the metro. I wouldn't really say this hotel is centrally located. It is, however, close to the Gulbenkian Museum and also to the enormous El Cortes Ingles department store. The hotel staff were not very helpful to be honest. Any my other complaint would be that the shower is tiny with only a curtain surrounding it, so I drenched the bathroom every time I showered. My overall experience was good though and I would definitely stay here again.

“A great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 June 2007

Went to Lisbon on a weekend trip and stayed here. Despite the advertising of this hostel is "near the center", it takes 15 minutes by bus or metro to reach the proper center. Rooms clean and a bit small; try to avoid those facing the inner patio since they have little light. Breakfast was sufficient.

“Good hotel, OK location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 June 2007

Clean, comfortable, relatively quite hotel. Location
is a few metro stops from the center, metro about
five minutes walk. No internet access, but there is
an internet cafe next door. It's not a very lively area,
but there are some restaurants.

You might not want to stay here if you have allergies.
The bathrooms have no ventilation and tend to get
a bit musty.

The "superior" rooms are a bit larger for not too much
extra. At the time we stayed, regular room was euro 60,
larger room euro 70.

Staff was quite helpful and friendly.
