“Outstanding Hotel in a Great Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

This was our second stay at the Real Palacio and I'm happy to say it was as good as the first. On our previous visit, our 2 year old boy was a mere bump. Now we have another bump as well and so space was a priority! We chose a suite for the 6 night stay and were able to get a great rate. The room was perfect - plenty of room for us all (for the few hours we actually spent in the hotel, because we were too busy in Lisbon!) It was very quiet and we all slept better than we have in a long time, probably down to the very large bed and the masses of fresh air we'd had!

The hotel is located just to the north of the city centre, close (and easy walking distance) to the São Sebastião underground station, which is about 10 minutes from the city centre, 15 from the old expo site and a couple of stops from the zoo and the large shopping centre near Luz.

The buffet breakfasts were excellent, with a wide selection of food to appease small and big people alike. High chairs appeared quickly and without prompting.

All the staff we encountered were outstanding and very friendly, as we had found on our previous stay. Having a small child (prone to the odd tantrum now and then although thankfully, had none in any public areas of the hotel!) was no problem and we didn't feel unwelcome or awkward in the hotel or anywhere beyond.

Room Tip: The first time we stayed, our room was on a higher floor and had a bit of a view of Lisbon. Otherwi...

“Very good hotel”

Very good hotel, nice location (10 euro taxi ride from airport, very close to metro).
Very large rooms, excellent breakfast, fitness area (with hottub) free of charge.

Drawbacks: very short and not so comfy (hard) beds.

There was no bathrobe in our room (wasn't really a problem, but you go to the hotbub, it was a pleasant plus).

“A great pre-Christmas break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2011

The staff were excellent and very obliging – especially Reception. Room service was good and we made use of it on a couple of occasions. We loved the bathrooms - lashings of hot water and good amenities. Sundaybrunch was fantastic – the selection was great and total value for money. We know Lisbon well and the main reasons for this trip were Christmas shopping, pampering and gastronomic delights! We were fully satisfied on all three counts. The hotel is in a peaceful location and without the traffic disturbance usually expected in a big city. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

“Real Palacio hotel review”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2011

We booked the hotel on a online booking website and for the price we paid VFM was excellent. It is not a real luxury five star hotel but the price is not either. Breakfast very good indeed both choice and quality, rooms fine and service good. Hotel has a modern feel to it, located around a 30 min walk from downtown Lisbon but near metro station and taxis also cheap. Well recommended for a good base to explore the city at a hotel that if booked at a good price proves to be great VFM.
