“The worst hotel I have ever been to”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2011

We have just returned from Costa da Caparica where we stayed in the hotel with the same name. It was terrible!!! Every day you get the same food for breakfast: ham, eggs, cheese, some fruit (not fresh!), cakes. The rooms are small and dirty, there is no refrigerator in the room. The staff is unfriendly, the only programme they organize in the hotel is the so-called karaoke night. You can go on trips if you organize it for yourself! The only positive thing is the location - close to the bus station taking you to Lisbon.

To summaryze it is a 2 stars motel not a 4 stars at all
Look good from outside but the room are so ugly, not clean stain on the carpet the bed is horrible so hard noise from outside need earplugs, the bathroom need a complete update
No bathrobe no slippers the bath products you dont want to use it
The curtain of the room is disgusting
The safe they charge you 2 eur per day and deposit 20 eur and it is a key
Breakfast low category even the orange juice is not fresh
Do not expect to check in before 14 h even hotel not full
No turn down service at night

If you leave your luggage they store but do not give you tag maybe you leave your LV bag at home....
I had to bring a peace of bred and a yogurt for a frd of mine sick in the room when I checked out charge me 4 eur because it is consider at room service unexceptable

The pool small
No gym
Who wants to try the Spa not sure when you see the room

The only positive is the location on the beach and the internet and price was 70 eur per night
What I found unacceptable that this hotel is consider a 4 stars it need a complete renovation

Do not stay here until some improvement stay at Sofitel Lisbon if y ou want a 5 stars and rent a car or take the bus to go to the beach

“Worth every penny”

On arrival our reception was very good, the Hotel was very good but was under used by other guests. The restaurant was first class and the bar and pool area spotless. There are a number of staff that were very good but the best were Fatama, Manuel & Pedro and bar staff...and Henrique on reception. We would return here anytime.

Room Tip: 21 euros for 3 course meal with a drink Ala Cart!

“Wonderful, be sure to get room 123”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2010

My father had passed away in Setubal and I had to make an emergency trip from San Diego to Portugal last Saturday. I decided to stay here because of the location and the beach. Upon arrival at 9.30am I asked the fron t desk clerk if I could check in and he said that check in was at 2pm. I had mentioned that I was here to bury my father today at 3.30pm and that I needed somewhere to freshen up and change for the funeral. He was extremely nice and put me up immediately in room 123, which is a suite facing the ocean with the biggest balcony on the property. The suite had a nice large livingroom with a queen couch bed and two small couches (which you could put together and turn into a bed). The bathroom had a jacuzzi tub/shower, a bidet two sinks and a toilet. They all were clean. Clean towels and plenty of soap, shampoo and other stuff.
The bedroom had a king size bed and a door to the balcony/patio which was huge. It had a table and 4 chairs on it. The bedroom was also very clean and had a safe(that didn't work) and both the bedroom and livingroom had flat screen tvs.
The hotel staff were amazing and very helpful. I had a massage that only cost me 30Euros. The free breakfast in the morning is well worth taking advantage of to start your day. Coffee, danishes, toast, cereal, juices, scrambled eggs and sausage or bacon.
The pool is nice, (only problem was pool attendant wouldn't let us have two towels each...rather silly) and the rest of the property is clean and very modern looking.
I would recommend this to anyone who likes comfort and clean rooms. You must splurge and get the best room on the place and get suite 123. I was there 3 nights and my sister came to stay with me and she decided to stay there for another week. Infact she's still there now .... at time of this review. The cost was 100Euros per night, which is well worth it. Hope this review helps as I didn't know why some of them were bad.

“Dirty and uncomfortable”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2010

We expected this hotel to be fantastic. Beautiful area, but once inside the room I could not believe my eyes. The bathroom had mold on the walls, the walls of the room were dirty and I think they forgot to put a mattress on the bed it was like sleeping on a box spring. I actually chose to sleep on the floor! Will never stay there again and I recommend you don't either.
