“Well located but needs refurbishment”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2010

Stayed for one night here. The location is good, near public transportation, 10 mins from Lisbon's center. The hotel was very nice 10 years ago but now it needs urgent refurbishment. It's clean, basic, but the furniture, mattresses and carpets are very worn. Staff is ok and the basic services are offered. Breakfast was continental - basic.
If you don't want to spend much in a well located Hotel in Lisbon it's ok, but don't expect a perfect night.

“Better hotels in the areas for the same price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 July 2010

We did not choose this hotel, we were part of a group, so it was chosen for us and indeed, this is a hotel that caters to groups and salesmen. The location is a bit out of the center, but the Campo Pequeno subway (under the bullring) is two blocks away and buses 44, 36 and 745 take you all the way to the waterfront. Also under the bullring a circular mall with supermarket and a variety of stores. What I really disliked was that the entrance of the hotel is in a curved dead end street, located after an office building, very isolated at night. Or you can cross through a fenced parking lot to get to Ave. 5 de Octobro. Though clean, the rooms need updating and cleaning. Burnt night tables, moldy grout, really worn toilet, erratic TV, frayed towels. Room service has to be paid in cash. When we asked why the next day, we were told that people leave without paying. Of course this could be solved by taking a credit card imprint as soon as you check in, which is not done. Two computers in the lobby provided internet access for a moderate 1.50 Euro for half an hour.

“Business travelling needs quality”

I'm staying at this hotel on a business trip to Lisbon and I'm a bit disappointed. I'm sure it's not the worst place for an overnight stay , but I do wonder why (a) staff can't be more helpfull and nice (b) the internet is not free and (c) the ironing service is not available in the evenings. I was actually willing to pay the extra euro for some of my blouses to be ironed before attending an important corporate event, but the hotel didn't give me the change to do so. The surrounding area is very noisy with planes taking off (the airport is a few blocks down the road), ambulances entering the neighbouring hospital and the trains running quite regularly from 7am. Breakfast is not the best I've had - the food was mostly cold, the orange juice is not freshly squeezed and is basically squash and coffee was terrible. I also have to mention the very small lifts for such a big hotel (over 200 rooms) when not more than 4 people end up feeling like canned sardines.

on a flight path for planes landing into Lisbon. Elevated train tracks adjacent, with regular train service. Am leaving for another location.
