Booked this hotel to attend business meetings. It's located near the office that I needed to visit.
We were allocated a smoking room even though we came with a very young child. We could have asked for another room but after a whole day of travel we were too tired to take our luggage down again to the reception. So for all four nights we stay in a room with the smell of cigarettes.
The furnishing of the room is basic. Some people like the matted glass separating the bathroom with the sleeping area but I dislike it. Whoever goes to the bathroom at night and turns on the light, the other person in bed could be waken up by the light. There is no box tissue in the bathroom. Also on the last night of our stay, they did not give us another roll of toilet paper, and no more bath gels. At the end I had to call them to ask for some. How could they be so stingy on these basic items.
The breakfast area looks very sad. The quality of the breakfast is okay but certainly not great.
I would not stay here again.

We stayed here since I had a meeting nearby in Lisbon and had a flight to catch. They allowed us a later check out so we were able to grab our bags, hop in a cab (easily found around the block) and make it to the airport with plenty of time to spare. The staff seems laid back but helpful. The room was very modern, with a nice view. I slept well, had a better than average hotel breakfast, and was able to walk to my meeting. I would definitely stay here again. I booked at the last minute so maybe next time I can get a better rate as it was a bit pricey. Also, I need to remember to bring a cable for the internet -- I ended up paying 3 Euro for a short cable so I could connect in my room. But for the convenience and comfort it was a great stay.

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to Lisbon's Entre Campos railway station. It is about a 5 minute walk from the platforms.

The hotel website had a very good deal on - just €58 Euros for one night. The room was clean and a reasonable size. Wifi/wired internet is not free and expensive.

The geography of Lisbon is quite spread out. You will almost certainly need to use the subway to get around. This wasn't a problem, even with a baby buggy. The subway is very clean, welcoming, safe and easy to navigate. You will need to purchase a relatively inexpensive travel card which starts 24 hours from when you activate it, rather than most other systems which run usually until the early hours of the next day.

I would recommend this hotel if you want to use public transport to see the beautiful city of Lisbon.

Hotel Villa Rica (or VIP Exceutive Villa Rica as it's sometimes known) is a more business traveller oriented hotel. As a result, you pay a bit more but everything is of a pretty high standard.

First off, the location is good. It's very close to a metro stop and also a major train station. It's also close to the stops the aerobus and aeroshuttle use. To find the hotel from the stop continue walking down the street from the stop ( walk in the same direction the bus was going in). When yo0u get to the corner, turn right. You should see the hotel in the not-far distance. Walk a block, then turn left and cross the street. It's 20-30m from the street corner.

The rooms are pretty big by European standards and you do get free internet access. Make sure to walk with your own network cable though as they charge you 3.50 euros for buying one. There's no wifi.

Breakfast is pretty expansive but not cheap. There is a small grocery around the corner from the hotel for those so inclined. The hotel has 2 restaurants (other than where breakfast is served) - one that's pretty upscale and a cheaper one. I only ate at the cheaper one and wouldn't really recommend it. My soup came cold and the other food was pretty tasteless.

Staff in the hotel are reasonably friendly and efficient. I had no issues with them at all. Overall, I would recommend staying at this hotel.
