“Not bad for the price.”

Arrived on Oct 4 for five nights. THis property is very popular with the larger tour groups so check-in can sometimes take awhile. Was assigned a room on the top (8th) floor with a decent view. Rooms were basic but everything is there. Large enough bathroon, wardrobe, fridge, safe (must pay E15 deposit to use). Small TV is attached to the wall with several English language channels. Breakfast is mayhem with hords pushing around and a table sometimes hard to find. Better to go down first thing in the morning before the rush. Free Financial Times newspapaer at front desk. Hotel is walking distance to Amorieras shopping mall which has supermarket, food court, etc., and about a 5 min walk to Rato metro station. You can walk further on to Marques de Pombo metro station (additional 5 min) for more convenience as its on the Blue Line to Baixa and Barrio Alto.
Taxi to/from airport is about E5. what I likes most about the hotel is that its located in a quiet, primarily residential, neighborhood. There are hole-in-the-wall cafes around and a decent pizza restaurant down the street.

“No frills butvery good hotel”

We stayed at the Amazonia Hotel in August 2007 for 2 weeks, myself, my wife, my 18 yr old daughter and our 9-year old son. The only two negative things we can say about the Amazonia are (1) very noisy air-conditioning units and (2) the beds could be a lot more comfortable.
The rest was well above average. For a 3-star hotel they were brilliant, service always with a smile, ABSOLUTELY GREAT BREAKFAST and their constant preocupation to please. The hotel itself is super clean. We recommend the Amazonia Lisboa Hotel to anyone wanting a GOOD, clean hotel providing a memorable breakfast.

I stay in many 3 and 4-star hotels and the Amazonia, for a 3-star hotel, rates at the top. I rate the Amazonia Lisboa Hotel a 3 star hotel with the attention of staff and service of a 4 start hotel. I hope my review reassures those who have been booked there. It is good
and you will be 10 minutes walk from the VERY central of Lisbon, only
20 minute taxi drive from the international airport and very short metro (subway/underground) journey from the centre of Lisbon.

“70s Hotel - Desparatley Seeking a Refit”

We were allocated this hotel by another which had over booked.

This hotel was staffed by people who don't know how to smile or talk to people. We talked to the reception staff on several occasions - not one smile.

The hotel smells like it needs redecorating - the room was clean but basic. The shower was poor - and had two taps with 'F' (cold) on them.

The breakfast room had a filthy carpet - I dread to think when it was last cleaned!

The hotel is not in the best part of Lisbon - a bit too far north. Stay nearer the centre if you can!

“nice hotel”

Nice hotel. Good breakfast, clean room, friendly staff, reception 24, free luggage-room for travellers. Pool is open air and situable only in hot weather. There is good "airplane wiev" at nights, because hotel located near of airplanes rutes near of Lisboa airport. But it is not noisy.

“Never again”

I don't normaly write reviews even when the hotels I stay in are below average......but this place does deserve a mention!

The reception was ok but thats where it ends, the remainder of the hotel was unacceptable. The carpets in the rooms were black with grime in places, and the matresses were heavily soiled. The bathrooms had cracked tiles and were in need of a complete re-fit, the bath would not drain away either.

Breakfast was basic but they only put out small amounts of food at a time which meant there was no bread or eggs for long periods.

I didn't think the location was very good, it is in a residential area at the the top of a small hill, you need to get a taxi or walk 10mins to the undeground station if you want to get into the main town.
